Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

Cummings wanted to bloviate and spew the cover-up line and when Issa shut it down he about had a stroke. Poor Elijah.

Ms. Lerner wanted immunity for her testimony normy, when they said no she clammed up.

The hearing was convened for the sole purpose of Lerner's testimony. She took the 5th and so Issa shut it down. All Cummings wanted to do was to whine about "witch hunts". People don't take the 5th in "witch hunt" investigations.

Treasury Sec. Lew just admitted in a hearing that the emails and documents asked for by the committees of jurisdiction have not been provided. Investigations?? I'd stop watching MSNBC and start watching these hearings on CSPAN.

No, jaxspp, if you look back you'll find that I warned that there would be NO landslide on either side in the popular vote and that the democrats were "getting out the vote" far more effectively than the republicans.

I watched that exchange over a few times. Multi millionaire, richest man in Congress Issa comes across as an effete snob, He knew the woman was going to plead the Fifth, yet he brought her there to continue his dead issue, and dismissed a member of Congress who called him on his adamant, stupid Mcarthyist witch hunt.

Free, didn't you also predict a Romney victory?

Posted 209 days ago.

Other than Fox, all the news outlets are skewering Issa as being a thug and a bully. Lerner's attorney already informed him before the hearing she would take the fifth, but apparently he hadn't reached his wasting taxpayer time and money quota yet, so he called the hearing anyway.

There is no there there.

Freeman, you putz, it was Issa that came across as an idiot. The wealthiest man in Congress acted like a superior being, and dismissed the man. Vey unprofessional, and a cynical expression of disdain. I wonder how many of these meetings take less than 15 minutes. You way overestimate your powers of prognostication.

What's so great about Lois taking the 5th?

So she was not forced to incriminate herself. Key word, INCRIMINATE.

Cummings looked like an idiot. Great day.

Aren't you tired of seeing everything I said would happen, HAPPEN???!!

No need to argue with you gentlemen since your positions are eroding and self imploding as we speak. Have fun, I'll keep reading.

Cummings? What a putz.

Something called The Right Scoop. I think he's afraid we'd bash him on suspending his business. I don't think I would, but I'm certain surefoot would. Things aren't that anonymous on the web, you never know what you might find if you really dig in.

Yes that was great theater. So where is RS posting?

Posted 210 days ago.

Hah, IRS hearing over already, Lerner takes fifth, Elijah Cummings dresses down Issa. What a great day.

Posted 210 days ago.

I looked a few days ago and RS is posting on more conservative friendly confines. Will he return? Don't know. Free is waiting with baited breath for Lois Lerner to testify to Issa. I know he is dying for someone, anyone to be indicted on the major, major scandals. This might be kaput, but I suspect if it becomes clear the GOP could take the Senate they'll be back.

Of course, the anonymous nature of our posts here makes a search difficult, but it is sort of fun trying to place an actual name with a persona...

Bush was an astute observer into peoples 'souls', as you mentioned, Jax. I am scanning the obituaries and the Alpena News daily for any sign that perhaps our conservative 'friends' have passed on, or have taken ill. I hope that is not the case. Personally, last week, in a span of 5 days, I lost 3 friends, all in my age bracket. Enjoy every sandwich, as well as any opportunity to converse with those of us who need the education.

If Obama would just look into Putin's eyes and see his soul like Bush did, we could get this whole Crimea thing straightened out.

I know why our 'conservatives' are missing...The Tea Party, aka the Moral Majority that swept the nation, with the Reagan Presidency IS DEAD.

Alpena is always crying about loosing the young people. They must be moving to Colorado to farm and sell gay scout cookies. The fiscal conservatives beat the religious conservatives bad in Arizona. Lets hope Snyder doesn't hold Michigan back.

Benny is the funniest show in town. "I think education is the real way out of this economy that we're in." In the meantime the GOP is fighting tooth and nail to cut education funding and to send kids to school hungry. He wants to open up the markets for health insurance, which would have happened if the GOP had worked along with the MAJORITY party instead of using all their energy to fight them. There could be insurance exchanges in every state with dozens of choices.

I enjoy hearing a well thought opinion, but what we have seen from the resident 'conservatives' rarely has that quality that would make me pause and consider.

Jax, we see in the Saturday Alpena News that Benishek came to Alpena to save the day. One business person sought to complain about environmental regulations harming his business. We can bet that Benishek will do what he can to relax environmental regulations to allow further degradation of our natural resources, as we are seeing across the country with lax enforcement causing disastrous coal ash spills harming the water supply. Water costs more than oil, so protect it.

I saw a story that Girl Scout cookies are selling like crazy outside the pot stores in Colorado. This thing is turning into a win-win for everyone.
