Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

AND, in today's Alpena News, we get Bill O'Reilly, the perpetual fear mongering proselytizer, misrepresenting the lyrics to the Bob Dylan song Rainy Day Women. Using the lyrics 'everybody must get Stoned', to illustrate his fear of marihuana(a freedom issue), he FAILS, and miserably, as usual, to understand the written words(lyrics in this case), as the song is about everybody getting stoned, as a metaphor for persecution of people. Get it, stupid.

I mhate to inform you shrill, but fairy tales have nothing to add when we are talking reality.

"We mourn the deaths at Sandy Hook, but our country is killing children (and few terrorists) in other countries as we speak." (Elaine in Letters to Editor)

How about the 55 million children that have been killed in abortion clinics since 1973? No mention of them? Why not?

By the way, if you have an inventory list from the Ark, that is quite a find!

Put this on your to-do list: Find an acorn and a good squirrel eye surgeon, not necessarily in that order.

I know pretty much everything there is to know about the underlying context Norminion.

The 2nd amendment also protects citizens from slavery today.

A highway patrolman stops a little old lady's car in West Texas for speeding. The driver hands over her licence, insurance, and licence to carry.

The cop asks; "Are you carrying now?" "Yes sir."

"What are you carrying?" "Well, I have a 9mm Beretta in a shoulder holster, a 357 Colt in a belt holster, a 1911 .45 in the glove box, an AR-15 in the back seat, and a Browning auto 12 gauge in the trunk."

"My God Ma'am! What are you afraid of?" "Not a d-a-m-n thing."

Well, shrill, it was written in plain American English, but as usual, you FAIL to understand the underlying context. My guns are legal and safely used, and NOT against humans. Noah failed also, there were no dinosaurs on board. HA!

Wow normanlake. American history is sadder than I knew :( Africa is the genesis of all humans. Barry should swear in on "Origins of the Species".

Funny that the NRA is asking for 'stimulus' to hire police for every school. With all it's hypocracy the republicans are afarid the republican party is dying and a one party system is scary.

Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. But the dove could find no place to set its feet because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him." (Genesis 8:6-12 NIV)

How many days must the House wait till a raven or a dove comes back from the Senate or the White House with anything? Both should have quite the aviary by now.

"Quoth the raven, Nevermore." Quoth the dove...huh?

Broom-Hilda should tweet that.

Outgoing Labor Secretary Hilda Solis blames the Right and the Tea Party for hurting the economy, suggesting they never wanted to engage Obama despite olive branches he extended to them.

In Obama's first two years he had House, Senate, and Presidency. Tea Party had no effect whatsoever during that period. That was the time frame when the Tea Party was born.

In 2010, the Tea Party helped Republicans take the House. Since then Harry Reid has pocket vetoed virtually everything they sent over, including at least 30 bills designed to increase jobs and help the economy.

Does Harry or Barry even know what an olive branch is? How about an olive leaf? How about an olive, olive? Isn't the natural habitat for those little rascals that region known as Martini?

"After forty days Noah opened the window he had made in the ark and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth.

I see you also do not know what "well regulated" means.

It's a good thing "the people" have the NRA to advocate on behalf of citizen's rights granted them under The Bill of Rights. Which portion of "shall not be infringed" are you not getting?

Our founders des***** Government tyranny. So do I.

(Just one aspect of Diane Feinstein's proposed gun control bill)

"Requires owners of existing "assault weapons" to register them with the federal government under the National Firearms Act (NFA). The NFA imposes a $200 transfer tax per firearm, and requires an owner to submit photographs and fingerprints to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), to inform the BATFE of the address where the firearm will be kept, and to obtain the BATFE's permission to transport the firearm across state lines."

Do you know what the "AR" in AR-15 stands for? Do you know how many different kinds of weapons Feinstein categorizes as "assault weapons"?

The NRA is comprised of members. These members are individuals. That we even need a group to help us guarantee rights already guaranteed by the Constitution is really strange and quite telling.

It appears to me that Feinsteins' proposals would violate the 2nd amendment and the 4th amendme

Try this English on for size, pretender. 'A well regulated Militia, being necessary to a free STATE(not nation, or Republic)the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed'. The reason the Second Amendment was ratified, and why it says 'state'instead of 'country' (they did know the difference)was to preserve the slave patrol militias in the Southern States which was necessary to get the vote of Virginia to ratify the Constitution. Militias were called 'slave patrols' in the Southern states, and were regulated by them. In Georgia, all slave owners and their white male employees were required to be members of the Georgia Militia, and to make monthly inspections of slave quarters, and to keep an eye out for slave uprisings. TOO BAD for the slaves that they did not have and keep ARMS, but of course, the militia was also required to search all ***** housing for Arms and Ammo. Imagine that, those 'well regulated militias' were busy. Slavery can exist only in the context

Guess what? ObamaCare appears to be functioning as intended, all we need is complete implementation. I suggest you seek information from somewhere else than your usual right wing sources. I can read quit well, thanx. NOwhere does any proposal require all the information you cite. Why do you suppose those requirements are needed to acquire a credit card, or driving license? Try actually reading, and comprehending the proposals, as your dim wit would allow. YOU choose to believe what Ted Nugent or Wayne LaPierre would tell you. The NRA, as it now exists, is not an organization for gun owners, but a front for weapon manufacturers. I do not think you(rshrill) have any capacity to think for yourself, as evidenced by the tired talking points cited in the previous post. NO person or entity has asked or required me to give the information you cite as proof of Obama's desire to infringe on MY Second Amendment rights. Common sense would dictate registration and proof of identity to purchase a
