Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

The doctrine of "leave no one behind" does not mean sacrifice a whole platoon to get one man's body back.

Freeman

Your argument really aggravates me.

Leaders make hard decisions. If I were President I would not have made that deal. They very well may have killed that soldier. That is the price of war. That sacrifice could very well, if not absolutely, save the lives of 100's of his fellow soldiers or, possibly, 1000's of innocent civilians.

What do you think we accept when we take the oath? We all know the risk. We accept that risk. You mentioned, I believe, that you were in the military; if that's true then you should know better.

My statement stands. I'd rather release those detainees than their commanders who will ABSOLUTELY enhance their effectiveness on the field. Strategy 101.

Do I want the prisoner home. Yes. Will I put 10 Americans in danger to get him? 100? 1000? Another 9/11 type attack? What's your price?

Never mind, I found it.

"...The Afghan high peace council has released over 500 Afghan and Pakistani Taliban prisoners during the past one and half year.

The militants were detained in connection to suicide attacks and other insurgency activities, and were released based on president Karzai’s decrees and on the request of the Afghan high peace council...."

I guess I don't get your argument. The AFGHAN'S released the detainees in an effort to start talks. It failed and they went back to the fight and, undoubtedly, killed some Americans.

So that justifies the President releasing their commanders? Did you read that article? Are you that desperate?

"According to the documents obtained by 1TV, at least..." Please source this article so we can read it.

This administration is in so far over their head that it's starting to get real scary. I truly believe that the Pres. needs to clean house and get some competent advisers.

His current staff has thrown him under the bus so many times he's starting to look a bit "tread worn".

Lower taxes smaller government apparently puts you in the same category as nazis etc.

Jax. I don't think any of the detainees need to be released. In particular their top level commanders. Your argument is two wrongs make a right. I dismiss that.

So my objection to a bad deal means that I'm for cutting off his head? Again with YOU 100% or GUILTY OF THE MOST EXTREME ALTERNATIVE.

Smarten up jaxspp, that kind of B.S. is infantile.

Why keep taking Cantor's remarks out of context? That's a cheap shot. Read them in their entirety. Again, more B.S.

A republican economist? Trickle down? Let's see, under the democratic "stimulus" Wall Street and the Markets, (fund managers), have flourished while middle class has been decimated. Come on man. Time to get honest.

Here are the Flunkies Fact-free talks about. Note part about high-lvel Taliban leaders.: "According to the documents obtained by 1TV, at least 224 Taliban militants including Pakistani nationals, who were arrested in connection to suicide attacks, were released on presidential decrees and on request of the Afghan high peace council.

"The militants were apparently released to help accelerate the Afghan peace talks with the Taliban group, however majority of those who were released by Afghan government, have returned back to battle field to fight Afghan and coalition security forces.

A number of high level Taliban leaders including close aides of the Taliban supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar were also among those who were released to assist Afghan peace talks."

Rick Perry thinks being gay is like being alcohol dependent. This uneducated tea bagger doesn't know the difference between attraction and addiction. Perry's deductions are bible based. Hville knows why these types are "loons".

Bad cut and paste: "In an interview with ThinkProgress after the event, Churchill explained that her relative, who needs help now, probably won’t qualify for a low-income government program like Medicaid and that there are very long waiting periods for charity programs"

If you are gay in Texas they can make you straight. If you have been right handed and hetrosexual for over 60 years maybe they can make you bisexual and ambidextrous so you can double your pleasure with both hands and both genders.

here's what Fact-free left out about Cantor and theIn an interview with ThinkProgress after the event, Churchill explained that her relative, who needs help now, probably won’t qualify for a low-income government program like Medicaid and that there are very long waiting periods for charity programs woman with cancer: "

A Republican Economics professor. Probably thinks trickle-down works.

"Beyond that, I know that there are programs, there are charitable organizations, there are hospitals here who do provide charity care if there’s an instance of indigency and the individual is not eligible for existing programs that there can be some cooperative effort. No one in this country, given who we are, should be sitting without an option to be addressed..."

In lieu of a good policy that will get her treatment a hospital. Got that one too free. Alpena General will treat her for free, a charity case? OK. We understand you perfectly.

Free, thanks for setting the price on getting an American released. So if the Taliban says we want 1 commander or we are cutting off this American's head, you say "Go for it". Got it.

You're an intransigent drone yourself. Just too dumb to notice it in yourself.

But as a simple test, drive down the left side of the road tomorrow. Stop at the green lights, and go at the red.

If your car has manual clutch and gears, start out in fifth, press the brake rather than the gas, and ignore the clutch completely.

Oh, but those are mere rules of the road, right? Right.

So! Don't be so intransigent about them.

U.S. Constitution. Rules meant to keep government in a cage.

Get back in your cage government, you intransigent bastard.

One more thing regarding your intransigent remark while simultaneously being as intolerant and as intransigent as one could possibly be.

Let's suppose you were trying to teach someone a song on a piano as written. Said song would consist of a particular set of specific notes, written in a specific sequence, to a specific time signature.

If played in the original key and not the key of C, it would consist of X number of black keys, and X number of white keys. Those keys, as played, and when played, would produce the written, desired, song.

An intransigent player would play it as written. A non-intransigent player could change a note or two or twelve.

Who would ever want to listen to the song played in such a way?

Oh you could vary the time, the rhythm, or the speed, and folks might recognize the tune, but if you played white notes for black, or attempted to place grey notes for either, you'd have neither a song, a melody, or anything at all, other than annoying noise.
