Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

I read today at (thegatewaypundit(.)com/2013/02/shock-report-veterans-receive-letters-from-va-prohibiting-ownership-or-purchase-of-firearms/) That returning vets are being denied their rights to firearms. Can anyone else give another ref. on this?

I've seen them snatch smaller birds out of the air right in front of my truck windshield, and it scared the Declaration out of me. Have seen a pair of them teaching their offspring how to fly. Love watching them fish especially. Those Eagles used to remind me of my country. Now I don't feel that way. I want those Eagles to remind me of my country's men and women. The individual citizens.

Am I an Eagle? Could an Eagle be a metaphor for you or me? I hope so. We have an unwelcome rodent problem in State Legislatures. We have them in our nation's capitol running it...into the ground. We need to learn how to hunt and how to fly. These little mammals need to be carried away...with stern conviction, overlapping wings, and sharp, focused, vision.

Was looking out our front bay window about an hour ago. Gazing across the country road over towards the neighbors on the opposite side. Good neighbors. Right then, a very large, Bald Eagle, with a snow white head (just like some of you have) swoops down from over the top of our house, grabbed what appeared to be a black squirrel on the road, did a 180 turn, and flew straight towards that window I was looking out of, up, up, and over the top of the roof back where he came from towards the woods and the river. I went quickly to the back kitchen window to note his landing place, and he was gone.

"The Bald Eagle was chosen June 20, 1782 as the emblem of the United States of America, because of its long life, great strength and majestic looks, and also because it was then believed to exist only on this continent."

I used to get feelings of patriotism and pride when watching these beautiful creatures make their living and ply their trade.

Perhaps to some of them we are the domestic enemies. However, we are not violating the Constitution, they are.

At this point nothing will surprise me. Hopefully something surprises them and they wake up...peacefully.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

There a lot of senators and reps violating their oaths. They are not defending the Constitution, and they appear to be ignoring domestic enemies.

The attack on the American people and our way of governance has been under attack since before 911. But, since 911 the attacks on freedom and liberty has escalated. There is not a sane man or woman who has lived through 911 until now that can deny our country has changed drastically. There comes a point that a conspiracy theory is not a theory but a cold hard fact of life. There are criminals in power, the government is broken, the wolves are at the door, friends. We all need to arm ourselves with information from all sources and learn to separate the truth from political and socially engineered spin. We must demand accountability now before we lose the rights to do so.

Each of us are responsible to ourselves, god, and our destiny. If you choose to go unquestioning into oblivion in a 250 year experiment in governance, to be written off as a side-note in the grand scheme of human history, then more is the shame on you. It is your responsibility as a citizen and a free human to question the motives of those we have elected to lead us. The political parties are corruptible. We have seen this happen throughout history. The dominant media is not a free media – its a state owned and run media that feeds us opinions and expects us to fall in step with a state agenda. There are no red states there are no blue states there is no left and right. There is freedom and those who would take it from us.

Sorry Norm, Its not the NRA that is terrorizing the public. It's Bloomburg, Como, Finestine, and dozens of other gun grabbing authoritarians who have no regard for freedom, personal responsibility, and liberty. They would enslave us under regulations and rules that they do not have to follow. They would social engineer us into worker drones that pay for their elite lifestyles. If we lose the fight for the 2nd amendment we lose our freedom and our ability to throw off an oppressive government which is a duty assigned to us by our founding fathers and responsibility of every citizen to uphold.

I don't give a fig about the sequester. It isn't a cut. It is a reduction in the rate of growth. In other words, spending still increases under the sequester...Obama's encephalitic brainchild.

When an army holds the line, is that considered 'fear' inside your gumball machine with one rotten ball left inside?

No, standing up against tyranny is not fear. Lying down, slumbering, and inducing others to slumber is much closer to fear.

I'll stand up. You go ahead a lie down. Hopefully the dream world still contains enough sugar plums to refill your depleted gumball machine, aka, your head.

Dumb arse, I have NEVER advocated 'gun control' IF you were capable of comprehending American English, you would know that. I differ from you in that I have not given in to FEAR, which is the bread and butter of the NRA, and right wing speak.

Nobo, it saddens me to see an otherwise rational purveyor of truth in this forum give in to the fear mongering NRA. Shrillstein cannot comprehend a simple notion that the sequester he is so fraught with fear over was and is a function of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The REPUBLICAN HOUSE voted FOR the sequester, by a wide margin. FACT. Congress voted FOR the sequester, in spite of all the GOP nonsensical history revision that presently dominates Republican speak. FACT. Your guns are safe. FACT. The NRA is scaring the 'crap' out of you guys. I am not afraid of my guns and ammunition being taken away, they are safe and secure. Nothing I have ever said in this forum contains lies of the sort rshrill would so marginalize my ideals with by insane innuendo and misrepresentation, let alone plain American English, which he has little grasp of. Do not be fooled, by a fool.

nobo..The language of the day didn't say a thing about 30 round clips and one 'crossroad' assult weapons ban has come and gone the way of the end of the earth in December. Now go threaten to have someone's legs broken, again.

nobo..Just wait a week and maybe the republicans will get rid of meat inspectors so your children can chew E Coli while big oil pockets the billions Beneshek gave them.

Right. Norm would sing them a lullaby.

Rshill, The 2nd amendment was written as a fail-safe to tyranny in as clear and solid language of the day. As written it will take a lot of social engineering to change the meaning and cloud the meaning of those words to the point it can be legislated out of existence. History has proven that every tyrant has always disarmed the public prior to enslaving it. I believe that we are at a crossroads where the people of the country still have enough power to stop and bring to justice the criminals who would enslave us. But it takes people to be aware and awake of the subtleties of a complicit media.

Norm is not a rational person NS. His sweeping, repetitive statements that nobody wants to take our guns, is 100% ludicrous.

Gun owners across the fruited plain apparently scare the crap out of them. That's good. We do not work for them. They work for us, and need to get that through their freedom-hating, control-freak, heads.

Are we going to need yet another Declaration of Independence? These gun control adherents might consider re-reading that particular document, as they are now doing a great impression of King George III.

You mean DHS.

I've seen those targets. Extremely disturbing to say the least. I also heard audio of someone talking to the company on the telephone that makes those targets, for verification of the facts.

Also, that's enough hollow point ammo to kill every man, woman, and child in this country approximately 5 times. Less than 6 million rounds were used in the Iraq War, to put those numbers in further perspective.

Hiya Norm, It's been a while. I gotta side with (of all people) Rshill on the gun issue. The second amendment is under attack across the country to the point that constitutional sheriffs are warning the public about it and assuring the public and local and state governments that they will not enforce gun-grabbing laws. I very concerned about the DHC program of funding non traditional “No hesitation” training targets to the government and law enforcement depicting pregnant women, children in schoolyards, old men in their homes with guns. Combined with the fact that DHC has recently ordered over 2 billion hollow point bullets (Illegal by treaty for use in war) a rational person must give pause to consider the implications.
