Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

Maybe they can hit the ground running...to Switzerland.

Why the legislation then? Just to break up the monotony of consistent economic and foreign policy failures, no budget in 4 years, trillion dollar yearly deficits and workers dropping out of the job market like paratroopers?

Rosa Parks was a hero in my book. The extreme right wing nutter counters my small tribute with a drum solo. One beat over and over, much like shrill postings. Not ONE original thought. I am beginning to feel sorry for you.

Take both hands, and instead of wielding a gun in them, do that shame, shame, sign language thing. Better yet, put up a "No Mob/No Looting" sign.

Dang, do I have to think of everything?

CBS NY – "Violent, thieving mobs have been making headlines across the country for the past few years, and now they have hit New York City.

And Maurice Dubois reported in this CBS 2 investigation, the teen mobs have left neighborhoods worried as businesses take matters into their own hands.

In New York and across the country, the mobs of kids – 20, 30, 40 or more — appear out of nowhere and suddenly charge a newsstand or convenience store.

“They assemble, they do whatever it is that they’re going to do, and then they disassemble in a matter of minutes,” said Jon Shane, assistant professor of criminal justice at John Jay College. “By the time somebody recognizes what is happening or is injured, if the police are able to respond, it’s slow."

My prescription: Give them lead poisoning. Oh wait, it's NYC. Nevermind. Just bend over and take it I guess. But before you do that, try this:

Rumor of Snyder wanting to raise the sales tax just like Engler did? The republicans always say they are against raising taxes then raise a regressive tax and add more taxes they call fees. We need to get rid of this politician asap.

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns....' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens."

Here's a quaint little post from Australia:

bigtimeusa • 20 hours ago - Australian Gun Law Update

Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts.... From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia

"Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in: Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent, Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)

By the way, as long as the victim is not a baby in the womb, murder is already against the law. Maybe we need another law making it really, really, illegal?

Instead of punishing law abiding citizens, protect the kids in schools like we protect bank vaults. The kids are worth much more.

Gun free zones are idiotic. Why not put up another sign that says, "Criminal Free Zone" or "No Murder Zone"?

I also should not get a speeding ticket because you were driving too fast.

Capiche?

You empty-mindedly allow incremental encroachments on your Constitutional rights until they are gone. Just a little bit at a time. An "assault rifle" and large magazines are defensive weapons and equipment in the hands of law abiding citizens. They should "not be infringed".

Why do all of these mass killings take place in gun free zones? The last "assault weapons" ban didn't reduce crime one bit. In fact, Columbine happened during that ban.

You voluntarily give up your rights. I will not.

All gun laws and restrictions are for law abiding citizens. Crooks don't obey the law...idiot. If they did, DC and Chicago wouldn't be the murdering capitals of the world now would they? Those two areas have the strictest gun laws in the land.

Besides, I wasn't even talking to you in my last post. I was talking to the other idiot.

The crazy people(yes, you are one shrill) are the reactionaries who cry conspiracy and wear tinfoil hats, signifying a boogie man behind every tree. I have said NOthing about 'controlling' guns, or the desire to do so. YOU are simple mindedly falling for the NRA rhetoric about Obama taking all our guns, when the reality is, we do need proper registration and safety measures in place that are not presently required. Sensible measures, NOT total removal of weapons from the homes of law abiding Americans, as the Aryans are telling you. Get a grip. (on REALITY).

Anyone who still wants to follow the Constitution is crazy...about freedom and the rule of law. The Koreans who owned businesses in the LA riot area, are the only ones who still had stores afterwards. Why? because they were standing atop their businesses with scary-looking weapons. AR-15's, shotguns and handguns.

Find the recent gun testimony on YouTube by a guy named "Henson Ong" and learn something.

The second amendment has nothing to do with hunting.

Here's a scenario: A gang of 31 looters want your money, your food, your life, and have just kicked your door down. Maybe the 31st will run away after number 30 drops to the floor. You should have two 30 round or a 40 round magazine...several of them.

People like 57 and Normuskrat seem to think that something that has never happened on their property, never will. They will never be prepared. Probably don't carry a spare tire either, unless they've had a flat before.

Still don't know the difference between a clip and a magazine either. It looks like Sandy Hook wants armed security now. Whose "crazy" idea was that? Oh, that was the NRA's idea. Wouldn't a much larger "Gun Free Zone" sign work better? Although that would be much more of a magnet than a deterrent wouldn't it?

Yep, those NRA folks are crazy.Tea Party folks are also crazy.

In my 50 years of shooting mammalia I have never needed a 30 round clip. Let the blood of the next 20 kids be on the hands of those who think they do. Could any doctor (Beneshek) ever support the fanaticism of the NRA. School shooters never use machine guns and we all know why.
