Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

Rshill, do not get me started on bottled water. At least you show some concern for Mother Earth. Rehire yourself, at five dollars per hour.

Huron Hippie, you radical leftie, (humor), thanx for the enlightening take on business. I would rather hear thoughtful ideas on the issue of minimum wage than hear Fletcher whine about his lot in life. I took a minimum wage job after my professional lie, to supplement my income going into my now retired life, and worked for every dime, and actually enjoyed the work as a retail clerk. But I also see that the folks I worked with had to work another job to support their families, even with a full time, NO benefit job, and they are driving a jalopy. It seems the politicians are out of touch with working class family life, and get paid far more than they deserve, and get to feed at the public trough after 'serving' for a few years. Would it take much thought or investigation into how the states that have a higher minimum wage do it, since the wage varies by a couple dollars. It appears that politicians spend way too much time on pleasing their donors that 'the people'.

I'm a self-employed business owner. However, I also had a bottled water this morning on the way to the dentist. Was so disgusted with myself, I figured the only redeeming move that could be made after such heathenry was to have my tooth drilled without any lidocaine, and fire myself as soon as I got home. So, now I'm unemployed, and my tooth hurts.

Maybe my customers won't notice and I can resume in good conscience.

(Ok, I got the lidocaine...so please excuse my face for looking like it just had a stroke. I neither expect nor deserve forgiveness for the water-drinking episode.)

Dear Rs:

You make me sick.

Sincerely,

Rs :-)

NO person suggested lossening voter registratio, and Mr. Edwards, I saw the cringing faces on the GOP members who looked like cookie jar thieves during the Address. We Americans should not be afraid, as you appear to be, of ANY voter. Make the whole process simple for EVERY American to vote and make the process FAIR. Seems American to me. You carp about a misguided battery program, yet not one word on Corporate Welfare such as Big Oil enjoys. And we all know about huge profits for these 'job creators'.

Knock Knock, Hello? John Boehner! Anybody there? The GOP LOST the election. You do not get to control the narrative, and simply, to use your favorite expression, do not get to 'kick the can down the road' to the Senate and attempt to shift governance to them. The GOP LOST seats in the House, LOST seats in the Senate, and LOST the Presidential election, so guess who is out of touch with 'the American people' you cite so frequently. In reality, you could care less about the people, and more about your tenuous hold on POWER. Sure, add to any debate on the merits of any issue, but when a MAJORITY of Americans disagree with your ideas and methods, PAY ATTENTION!

If I'm standing between you and the right thing, that means I'm closer to the right thing than you are.

SHRILL - Thanks but no thanks. It's people like you that keep me from switching parties.

The Senate Democrats (in Lansing) are pushing that HH. It will not pass.

Morality does not harm the economy or pile regulations on businesses, and nobody cares what you do in your bedroom.

It takes only a cursory look to see which party wants to regulate and legislate so many aspects of your behavior.

Morality also includes the work ethic, rugged individualism, entrepreneurship, and decent behavior. Morality is also against gangs, murders, rape, theft etc.

Anything wrong with that? Nope. C'mon over, I'll introduce you around.

And I am not whining. I chose this method of slow death (business) myself. I am just stating what reality is, or my version of it. The worst type of people are those who constantly whine about their lot in life. I don't want to be one of those. Anybody got a dime?

And let me just add something about the minimum wage. Before I became a businessman, I believed in the so called "living wage". I didn't understand a lot of things before I went into business. Currently if my labor costs are above 24% of my sales, I will lose money, which I already frequently do. Imagine what a bump of 20% in my labor costs would do, without a corresponding 20% bump in sales. Unlike what many people think, many small businesses like me are barely eking out a living. My employees at minimum wage make more than me most years.

If the current bill in Lansing to raise the minimum wage to ten dollars an hour passes, I will either go out of business and stop paying property taxes in this lovely town, or raise my prices by 20% which will also cause me to go out of business. It's a lose-lose situation. The same goes for Obama's agenda to raise minimum wage. See, we 'lefties' don't always agree with the crap on the left. If the GOP got out of peoples bedrooms and stopped promoting radical social and religious agendas, I would probably switch parties, as I am a fiscal conservative. We need a tweener party. I want my government focused on the economy, not morality.

The Federal Government just wants to replace Adam Smith's "invisible hand" with an iron fist. What's wrong with that? Oh right...everything.

The guise of "creating jobs" attempts to mask the redistribution of our hard earned tax dollars to O's cronies and contributors.

Besides, every quid needs a pro, and every pro needs a quo. If they would simply all join hands, we'd have quid pro quo, brought to you by Larry, Curly and Mo.

Al Capone would love it. He'd open a solar panel company, just as long as he didn't have to allow any sunlight into the whole shebang, bang, bang.

Why was Rubio so thirsty? Dehydration from flop sweat.

George, how's your 401K doing, if you have one? Were you in America when Bush was president? Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago? If not, you should examine your life and try to improve, don't blame Obama for your own failures.

Lib programs? America is crumbling apart, lib programs is what maintains it. You wouldn't let your house fall apart like Republicans are letting America fall apart, but as we've discussed, Republicans see the road, drive on the road, wonder where the road came from.

Interesting article in the detnews dot com by Daniel Howes. "Another Dud in Federal Battery Program". Government at its best or why Government should not try to create jobs. The Incompetent President.

Norman you are re-arranging the chairs on the Titanic Deck. As long as I have a family I am going to hope and work so this nation does not go under. Going under is the direction we are headed in. The band is playing. Open your eyes and ears. We must loosen the voter registration requirements and yet, if filling out a postcard sized form with your name and address in a 23 month time period between elections is to much of an effort, what are the chances you are going to stay informed on issues in that same time frame? This, of course, assumes you don’t live in an early voting state where the window of opportunity to register is dangerously reduced from 690 to 660 days.

Did somebody say FILIBUSTER? If anyone does not believe that the GOP is the party of obstruction, the first blockage EVER of a nominee for Defense has been fulfilled, led by the effeminate pretender to WAR service, Lindsey (femme)Graham, making the present Congress on track to be worse than the last one, well, believe it. Nothing wrong with being effeminate, mind you, but do not pretend to be macho, it does not work that way.

Well, I spent the last couple of seconds and took a long hard look at my life. You're right. Take me to you leader.

Aaahahahaha.

YOU, rshRill, cannot handle truth, as I have presented many truths in this forum, and instead of absorbing my wisdom, have presented a contrarian, fascist side to the issues. It is okay to be wrong, but when presented Facts, a reasonable person would 'get' it. YOU do not, and appear proud of it. That is WRONG.
