Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

Better adjust your skirt, litle feller, your intolerance is showing (again). The Gang of Four were compatriots who had their stories meld, because they were in total agreement. Finding four acolytes to say the same thing would be quite easy, since they ALL had the same agenda. How many Gospels were rejected becaue they did not mesh with the Four?

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John had the same interpretations of Jesus, not different ones, Bozo.

Please point out where they were not consistent with one another, Howdy Dummy.

Sounds like a lame interpretation of a lame statement by a man named "Lame".

"Lame Deer's life as a young man was rough and wild; he traveled and rode the rodeo circuit as a rider and later as a rodeo clown. According to his personal account, he drank, gambled, womanized, and once went on a several day long car theft and drinking binge."

Lame indeed. I wonder what brand of clown shoes he wore.

Eyewitness accounts of any given incident have always been unreliable, as ten persons could witness and event, with ten differing versions of even the simplest incident. To believe that the four aforementioned Gospel writers got every word correct is disingenous, and naive. Take your beliefs, and live your life accordingly, but do not attempt to beat us over the head with YOUR interpretation of the interpretations of other fallible men.Peace, brother."We are all from the same root, but the leaves are different"...John Fire Lame Deer, Lakota holy man.

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were acolytes of Jesus, and as such had a vested interest in promoting THEIR interpretation of what THEY believed to be His words. We can easily see in the present day, where the words of others are RE-interpreted, MIS-interpreted, and represented as truth, when in fact, the original words of the actual speaker have been twisted to illustrate another truth altogether.RshRill believes what HIS Bible tells him, and THAT is his reality, with NO questions.Others of us with a mind of our owncan see through the interpretations of others with an axe to grind, which has historically led to mayhem in the name of the Lord, in the name of Allah, in the name of Yahweh, in the name of Hitler for instance.

Jax...wrong again, and consistently so. There's something to be said for consistency. Not sure what that something is, but...

"In a letter to his parents from prison, Rudolph has written, "Many good people continue to send me money and books. Most of them have, of course, an agenda; mostly born-again Christians looking to save my soul. I suppose the assumption is made that because I'm in here I must be a 'sinner' in need of salvation, and they would be glad to sell me a ticket to heaven, hawking this salvation like peanuts at a ballgame. I do appreciate their charity, but I could really do without the condescension. They have been so nice I would hate to break it to them that I really prefer Nietzsche to the Bible."

There is nothing more anti-Christian than Nietzsche. Nothing at all.

Normarijuana. You are a deluded doomus. You also never defend your stupid statements. Neither does Jaxodiquehead.

Some people believe in fairy tales and hold up a book of fairy tales as proof of the fairy tales. Others are SANE.

Eric Rudolph committed his acts as a Christian, again RS is wrong-as per usual.

In a couple of evening sittings you could read "The Everlasting Man" by G. K. Chesterton.

Although George MacDonald was C.S Lewis' favorite author, and one of mine too, Lewis attributed the aforementioned book as finally convincing him to give up atheism and become a Christian.

"For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty." (2 Peter 1:16 NIV)

Hmmm, I guess what the Disciples wrote about were facts recorded by eyewitnesses...you know, those rascals that stand up in a court of law. Ahhh, what do courts know anyway? It's an Eveready battery/tape recorder problem.

However, it sounds like Peter wanted folks to know that the things they were saying were the truth, rather than Greek Mythology. He wanted very much to differentiate the truth from myth. He later died, crucified upside down, in defense of that truth. No one could tell him that he didn't see and hear all the things he saw and heard. You included.

Each and every one of the 12 disciples were killed for the truth, except for John. Perhaps you could die for Hiawatha or Chief Crazy Hat.

"13 And the Jews' Passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise." (John 2:13-16 KJV)

Yikes! He made a scourge of small cords and drove them out? No way. Jesus would never do that...would he? Yep, he would, and did. He called them snakes, vipers, and hypocrites. Would he also call you that? I would.

Normiawatha:

Then where's the "Happy Hunting Ground"? Is it six feet under in a box, and does the game in that Happy Hunting Ground consist of nothing but bugs, worms, and moles?

The words I attributed to Jesus, are called, direct quotes. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and Luke again in the Book of Acts. They were whatchacall disciples. They lived with Jesus and witnessed his words and deeds for approximately three years. They also recorded them.

According to you doofuses, we can't rely on any words from anyone before the invention of the tape recorder? Throw away all of your history books...not that you have any, and rewrite the words of our founders, early Presidents, settlers, pioneers etc. because no one has known nor could ever have known the words of anyone.

Dumb. You've been scalped by truth, and left brainless:

Amos, you are correct that the words of Jesus areunknown, but if you read of his life, an extraordinary person arises. But do not take the word of a FALSE prophet as we see in this forum, he uses the Bible to promote hate and ignorance, which is anathematic to the life of the Man, which is celebrated by some, and misrepresented by the aforementioned HATER. I was raised in a Faith, and have since adopted the American Indian feeling of spirituality, but my basic decency was aroused by my upbringing in being raised Catholic, which guys like the aforementioned HATER do not agree with. We are put on this Earth, we live our lives, we die. That LIFE is ALL we get, so enjoy.

norm..Reality check. No one knows what the "words of jesus" were because the batteries in his tape recorder were dead.

It's the fundementalists of any silly religion that the FBI needs to keep an eye on. Anyone who thinks there is life after death is too dangerous to own a gun. I'll keep an eye on Sara Palin's stage walking but as soon as she starts talking we know she is unarmed.

Consider Luther's 95 thesis as being nailed to your very own forehead, post-head, and chest. Deal with it.

By the way, there was nothing "Great" about the Inquisition. It was yet another, in a long-running, exhaustive list of Catholic atrocities, by those who wouldn't let people read the Bible, but interpreted it for them...knowing they were teaching out and out lies.

That's called blasphemy. One subject you might be prolific at.

They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear." ((Matthew 13:40-43 NIV)

Would you describe that as "hate"? Sure you would. How about "racist"?

I would describe the words of Jesus as fact...truth. Even his parables illustrate basic facts regarding truth, fact, and wisdom. It is also quite plain what is parable, and what is fact, to those with a basic understanding of English.

So, again, stop lying about Jesus. Stop lying about me too. Jesus called the Pharisees and the Saducees all kinds of names. Do you know why? Because they were (and are) the truth. Same reason I often call you names.

your head spin around 720 degrees or so, and did green slime projectile- exit your first-hand smoke-hole?

You don't believe that Jesus is God or The Messiah. You do not believe in Creation. You do not believe in Heaven or Hell. You do not believe in any of the miracles from the Old or New Testaments. You have completely rejected even the teachings of your Catholic former Catholic Church...unless you still pray to Mary, or ask Popes, Priests or Catholic "Saints" to take away your sins.

So, why are you even bringing up Jesus whom you've completely rejected? Are you beating people with YOUR misguided non-beliefs? Why not? What's the difference? Here's another quote from Christ Himself, just for you::

"As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.

Are there ANY parts of "The Holy Bible" you Do believe? I mean, any at all?

I know you think that word "hate" has all sorts of magical connotations designed by progressive commies to shut people down and/or up, but NO, it doesn't. No more than if I called you "smart", "wise", "loving" or "knowledgeable", on any subject under the sun.

Hate is as nearly worn out and overused as another word hard lefties like yourself overuse..."racist". "Hate and Racist". It's what to say when all other lies are exhausted, right?

Is quoting from "The Holy Bible" equated with beating you with it, in your "mind"? How about if I quoted from Alinsky's "Rules For Radicals", Obama's bible? Would that be a cudgel, a hammer, a night-stick, or a naked fist? Is there now a festering bruise or open wound somewhere about your neck and shoulders from having to read a Biblical quote from Jesus Christ? Did
