Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

"I genuinely and deeply believe the economic package we've put forth will move us toward black economic freedom, because it's aimed at lifting an entire country and not just parts of it. There's a truth to the words spoken by John F. Kennedy that a rising tide lifts all boats. Yes, I know it's been said, "What about the fellow without a boat who can't swim?" Well, I believe John Kennedy's figure of speech was referring to the benefits, which accrue to all when the economy is flourishing." (Ronald Reagan)

Reagan = The black unemployment rate went from 21% (from Carter's term) down to 11.5%. Net worth of families earning between $20,000 and $50,000 annually grew by 27%. Inflation reduced from 13.5% in 1980 to 4.1% by 1988. Real gross national product rose 26%. Prime interest rate reduced from an unprecedented 21.5% in January 1981 to 10% in August 1988. Rebuilt the American military and won the Cold War without firing a shot.

I don't believe I've ever hollered about companies moving off shore, just the money that the wealthy were supposed to trickle-down into America.

To my earlier point, I would just like to know what the heck I'm going to have to pay the "G" without having to play at "guess where the law is". Maybe, (if all goes well), we'll actually have a budget for 2014, that might help with the predictability problem. Still have to navigate through the "ObamaCare Nightmare" and other whims of Congress. My deductible, by the way, doubled and even after it's met, I still have a 80% copay. Ohhh, that "Affordable Health Care Act" sure hooked me up. Thank you Mr. President. I don't qualify for the mandate to offer health benefits but I have been told by employees that they will take the $95.00 per year penalty until they get sick then sign up. I'm sure Uncle Sam will fix that little "hitch" in the "plan".

Don't pay any attention to normanlake, why bother even responding to Mr. Read Uponit, aka Parrott Boy.

At some point, jax, there has to be a limit to what you can ask of any group of citizens, wealthy or not. Stagnant wages in the middle class is a problem, I feel it, most of us do.

You seem to think that the "trough" will never run dry. You holler about corporations moving offshore and, in the same breath, call for higher taxes. I'm confused.

Why not set a flat rate, no loop holes, for everyone. Make it progressive but predictable. Right now the unpredictability that is rampant in our system is hampering organic growth. That's a problem. You cannot just keep taking from the successful and expect a incentive based system to function. Surpluses in the federal coffers are a reflection of decreases in private capital. When the "Public Paul" is running a surplus, it means that "he" is stealing from "Private Peter".

WHAT great words do you think you have written? I see NONE. Trading blurbs with YOU is like having a conversation with a squirrel. Nuts!

I guess profanities DO show up around grade Four. Good job!

Yet all you've done all day long is respond to me, and****at my heels.

Look at what I've written versus what you've written. You have zero writing skills, no creativity, no originality, you're dumber than a tupperware toothpick, and are a goose-stepping commie.

Eat sh*t loser. My socks are smarter than you.

Its about time YOU, little feller, graduated to FOURTH GRADE, you need to come up with some more original taunts. I would 'pass' you just to be rid of your immature presence.

Any scholar worth his/her salt can see that the very best way to "recognize" same sex couples, is to simply look at them and say something like:

"Hey, I've seen you two freaks before!"

The thing about trickle-down economics is it never trickle-sdown to the infrastructure. Was America better served when we were running surpluses and could use them for infrastructure or having the money in Mitt Romney's Swiss bank account? Now you know, so pucker-up buttercup.

You "sure" are ignorant.

Oh well, in related news, even though Johnny's piston rings are so shot he uses as much oil as he does gas, what he really needs for that tired old buggy is a new stereo/CD/memory stick accepting stereo, with really great speakers. Sometimes it takes the tow truck a long time to arrive...one should have some really sweet tunes to make the wait much more pleasant.

Yep, priorities people. That's usin' your noggin' for something more than a Christmas drink.

Dear Alpena City Council:

At least you got "smart meters" connected to everyone's house first, you know, so the water flowing through those 1905 pipes isn't so darn dumb.

Can't say the same for Alpena's decision makers though can we? Are there some smart meters shaped like hats that can be fitted to those folks?

The "old" meters were no doubt better than the 108 yr. old pipes. Right?

Will one of those smart meters cap a major catastrophic failure? Will one of those smart meters rejuvenate any of those 108 yr. old pipes? No?

Who cares? The meters are smart. They're computerized. Don't worry about raw sewage or your drinking/bathing water. Be proud of your meter, even though when they were voted on, "the people" were promised no major rate increases. That's what ya' call a big fat lie regarding the "smart" meters, directed at overly-gullible voters.
