Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

If anyone has broken any laws they should go to jail. Now with Benghazi Issa has been screaming for months there was a military stand down order given, now military people are declaring this week there wasn't. I'm all for investigations, but when is enough enough? There is no point where people will be satisfied, so on they go forever. You think Gowdy is going to call these military men to speak now that they have declared no one ordered a stand down? And how about the GOP suing the president for something they themselves wanted and voted on? It just goes on and on.

Turning a blind eye to the manipulation of government is the easy way out.

IRS targeting is a classic case. If you don't look for wrong doing, you, of course, will not find wrong doing,(or the lack thereof).

Benghazi, Fast & Furious, VA... If you don't bother to ask the questions then you will really not know and that is very scary.

I suppose, but these laws are being tossed out left and right. Also ironic is that it seems to be mostly red states implementing these laws. And also strange is a top GOP official in Pennsylvania declaring they had just secured the state for Romney after passing their law.

Whatever. It may work for the GOP for a few years, but people will catch up, and they will have to try something else other than finding candidates to appeal to voters.

We have a lot of people crying foul at the prospect of voter ID's, what are they trying to hide?

Acorn was registering dead people for goodness sake. That happens on both sides.

If we don't have a way to examine it, then we will not know if the problem is large or infinitesimal. I, personally think it is vital that we know.

Imagine a Bush supporter in Florida voting in two counties, compound that by a factor of 10 and you have the decision firmly in Al Gore's favor.

Kennedy v. Nixon in Chicago districts.

Those are two monumental examples.

It does not exist until it exists, right? If we have no method of voter verification then you can't make the argument that there is no problem.

We have a lot of problems in this country that "don't exist" because we are not aware of them.

American citizens have the right to vote in American elections. Let's create the metric by which verification can take place, use every method available to get voter ID's into the hands of EVERY eligible voter and see what happens.

It was a solution to a non-existent problem, unless you have an example of an election decided by voter fraud. An no, RS, I do not believe Cochran won by fraud.

I'm all for voter ID cards, the idea that low income citizens can get a Bridge Card but are somehow not able to get a Voter ID card is infantile.

Maybe they could have wheeled the bed down there.

Yep, you can sign an affidavit at the polling place and cast your vote.

I guess you explained how a bed-ridden person on home health care was going to get a picture ID, I must have missed it.

Can't you sign an affidavit if you don't have a picture ID? I think you can.

My mother has never in her life had a picture ID and voted in every election up until the last one.

I don't know what happened, we were singing Kumbaya about music at Christmas , now we are at each other again. I will try, Mr. Freeman, and Mr. RS, to be a little kinder.

I ragged on your mother? No liarhead. I ragged on you for saying that your mother had no ID and needed to be able to vote without one.

In other words, you used her, and lied about her, to try and make a point about voter ID requirements. Remember?

Would you still like to maintain that she either had nor has no ID?

A pig shouldn't project his own porkiness on another for pointing out what a slab of fatback he is. Right pig?

Right.

Alzheimer's is tough on family members. My aunt had it and I have no idea how my uncle kept up. He was able to keep her home with him until her death. I think the hardest thing in the world is having a loved one "forget" who you are.

Keep your chin up,,,

Did you have a mother like RS? Mine is still bedridden with Alzheimer's, if you remember RS ragging on her. But they can't all be Mother McCree like his.
