Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit Member CommentsnormanlakeWe have this resource, we call it the WorldWideWeb...so you cannot fool us like you have been fooled. The internet makes it so easy, just type in conservative economics, and Voila! Then we see how Conservative social engineering has been soundly rejected by most Americans, which is who your Congress persons are supposed to represent, and FAIL again. The failure of Conservative economics is well documented, just look beyond your usual sources.Yeah, THAT will happen. Posted 62 days ago. Just wait, when Obamacare goes FUBAR(er) the blame will be placed squarely on the republicans. Takes a real genius to wallow in finger pointing and relish jeering at any new ideas,,,,dems are genius's Posted 62 days ago. Freemantype monetary SCAM that will, (WILL!!!), come crashing down and cause a global depression. An idiot can see it coming. Posted 62 days ago. FreemanWhen state and local government HAVE to organize and budget for investments in their jurisdictions based upon FEDERAL GRANT AVAILABILITY, then you see the abject failure of the people to maintain the federal system of government outlined in the constitution. We fell asleep at the wheel and ran into a "nanny state" ditch. Let's reverse the amount of money we pay as income tax and give the feds what we pay the state and the state what we pay the feds. How's that stick in your craw? Let the federal government go back to doing what they were always required to do and let the states and the people do everything else. As far as the "Clinton-Gingrich" budget surplus...Never existed. You cannot bind the hands of a future congress. It also relied upon "baseline budgeting" that never, ever, ever, resides in the realm of reality. Hello....starting to get the picture? How about we back our currency with gold? Right now the world economy RELIES upon a ponzie Posted 62 days ago. FreemanRight now the task of governing at the federal level is virtually impossible, not because there is not enough money coming into the treasury but because more and more is flowing out in the form of "social benefits". The arguments were made at the inception of SS and Medicare that this would happen and, wow, it happened. When you pay in 1 dollar and receive 3 dollars it doesn't take a genius to figure out were all the money is going. Now we have the "tax and spend" theory attempting to further crowd out the private sector and you get pissy when the people trying to tell you the truth and fix the problem make their case. GROW UP!! Posted 62 days ago. FreemanWhen has conservatism ever worked? "Sorry about your taxes. When you pay your taxes, do you use a road to get to the bank? Wonder how that got paid for? It's a mystery to conservatives." - Jaxspp Isn't that what government is supposed to do jax? I don't think any conservatives have an issue with that. What we take issue with is all the things government is NOT supposed to do that*****UP the tax revenues and spit them out as non-investment and non-governing give aways. Every time I hear that "roads" and "bridges" crap coming from the left I can't help but laugh. Sounds like a bunch of 5 year olds making the case for their getting the last cookie. Grow up. Posted 62 days ago. rshill7Keep in mind that JFK, LBJ, Carter, Clinton and Obama represent "the Republican way". Democrats owning the House for over 40 years is also "the Republican way". See, saying dumb stuff is easy. Lies are just as easy. Jax knows that too and lives by it. However, no one is as stupid or inane as Normensa.
