Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

Let's be clear, the FISA court allowed 100% of the requests made by the NSA.

That is suspicious by anyone's standard. I think the Patriot Act needs to be reviewed and/or replaced.

So, putzes, the GOP is not turning away from the Act but recognizing the abuse it seems to be fostering. I mean, how can you see the world in such stark contrasts. Boggles the mind. Time for some of that nasty OVERSIGHT.

Get on Newsvine and pose the question to Lawrence O'Donnell, I'm sure he'll answer promptly.

Patriot Act? Did you ever consider, before hanging on every word Maddow bellows, that the Act has been abused? Hmm. Government abuse? They wouldn't do that would they?

What part of this scenario are you not understanding jaxspp? I mean, get with the program man!!

Government has gotten out of control and both parties are to blame.

Why, do YOU think, that the founders wanted congress to "oversee" the executive? Can you rummage around in that little peanut you call a cranium and come up with an answer that doesn't have to do with the GOP? Someone of your "Universitas" should be able to do that.

As far as impeaching the president. Come on, you think his circle would let him know what the*****is going on?

This guy is the most clueless Chief Executive in history. As far as anyone can tell, nobody in his administration knows anything about anything. Transparency has become a mockery. Truth has become whatever is not revealed and trust pulled an Elvis and left the building.

Bad governance has come home to roost, nothing more, nothing less.

Would you be as blind if Issa was investigating the IRS trying to intimidate the UAW from participating in political activities?

I bet you'd fly to D.C. and kiss his "terrible ass".

One day you'll figure out that it is the abuse, not who is doing it. Government cannot operate without oversight. Sorry you don't like it today but you might when a republican administration starts "pulling a Nixon". You'd better watch out jaxspp, (and everyone else who places blind trust in governemtn), you just might get the governance you wish for.

Um, this was brought up in 2010. Kind of before getting their******whipped.

You are fast becoming pathetic jaxspp. The House, when controlled by Dems, held just as many, if not more, hearings than Issa. You just don't like what they're investigating.

You, sir, are a hypocrite of the first order.

Strike that, to be a hypocrite you would first have to have basic understanding of what both positions are and you, as evidenced by your use of MSNBC catch phrases, just have no clue.

Pathetic.

Bush beats Gore legitimately. Lefties cry that he "stole" the election, for years and years...even still.

Obama actually does steals the election...not a peep. Double-standard demmie-dummy-cheaters.

You guys live in paranoia. Translation: Shut-up and take it like sheep...said the runt of the actual sheep herd, in need of a good close sheer, right to the bone...aka, Jaxomutton.

Why don't we get to the bottom line of all these investigations and so-called scandals. Republicans have never gotten over that Obama has whipped their rears twice. They are going to dig and dig and dig, however long it takes, however much money it wastes, to try to find an impeachable offense on Obama. That's all this is all about, even to the point where they are disowning the Patriot Act. That's the only reason Republicans tolerate someone as despicable as Issa, because the country knows he's crazy and the GOP can distance themselves from him while hoping he finds something.

Double post, but worth it.

Free, I used to think RS was the biggest fool I've ever seen, but you have caught him in the homestretch. Oversight is one thing, perpetual political investigation is another. But maybe I should try to live my life more like you, that is, in a state of perpetual paranoia fear. We love you Issa, you ol' nut job you. Just curious Factless, do you even have the most remote clue why they wanted to look into conservative tax exempt groups and how 501(c) laws were being abused? Now that I've forced you to look up something, google again and learn.

Again, the NYT in 2010..

"....The Internal Revenue Service is caught in an election-year struggle between Democratic lawmakers pressing for a crackdown on nonprofit political groups and conservative organizations accusing the tax agency of conducting a politically charged witch hunt.

Voters in New Hampshire may be interested to learn that Jeanne Shaheen was among the signatories of that letter urging action by the IRS...."

And you question Issa's investigation?

How friggin' stupid can you actually be? The world wonders.

It takes a veritable genius to be a successful businessman from one's living room :-)

Dummies don't understand freedom or initiative.

Keep punching that clock, saying yassah massah, and get those unionista jackboots re-soled.

Oh, and apply liberal amounts of anti-bacterial ointment to both your lips and your nose.

You, jaxspp, have just not been paying attention.

Pick up a newspaper, use a mouse but get informed.

You are starting to become a joke.

Oversight is a primary function of congress. What part of civics class did you miss?

Committee hearings and investigations are a part of congressional process. Grow up young man.

The New York Times reported IN 2010..

"..With growing scrutiny of the role of tax-exempt groups in political campaigns, Congressional Republicans are pushing back against Democrats by warning about the possible misuse of the Internal Revenue Service to audit conservative groups….And the Republicans are also upset about an I.R.S. review requested by Senator Max Baucus, the Montana Democrat who leads the Finance Committee, into the political activities of tax-exempt groups. Such a review threatens to "chill the legitimate exercise of First Amendment rights," wrote two Republican senators, Orrin G. Hatch of Utah and Jon Kyl of Arizona, in a letter sent to the I.R.S. on Wednesday. ... Democrats dismissed the Republicans' complaints as groundless..."

jax is as blind as he wants to be.

"Living room moguls"? Revealing one's ignorance is never attractive jaxspp.

Ignorance is bliss and you are one happy camper.

Good luck with that.

It'd be nice if democrats were statesmen and oath-keepers rather than accomplices.

They are going to have to pull out all the stops with regards to election fraud this next time. You know, like they did last time.

Only commie apps to the IRS should fly right through...good point. Jump on that point, and rotate till November.

Posted 506 days ago.

The just in: The GOP is announcing an investigation into the investigations to find out why the investigations are coming up with squat.
