Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

"taking away human rights from certain groups of people...like Christians, or Conservatives." We're not taking away your rights, SHRILL. You can still hate women, gays and anyone who's not a white Christian all you want.

In 2003 the Supreme Court, in Lawrence v. Texas, struck down any and all sodomy laws in every state. Sodomy is a behavior. They mandated that it be "acceptable" in all 50 states. Now they also demand that sodomites be granted "marriage". So, not only is it acceptable, it's been blessed by the court, and "equated" with traditional marriage. If that isn't accepting and blessing behavior, deemed deviant for thousands of years prior to such acceptance, nothing is.

I guess sodomites will just show God a copy of some Supreme Court Decisions. I wonder if he'll tell them he ain't bound by decisions of that court or any other.

Oh well. Lots of folks being turned away at the Pearly Gates won't affect Jaxobrimstone either. Only when he gets turned away will he take notice.

I guess Jaxelfish will complain about something when it actually touches him. For a collectivist, he sure is all about the me, me, me, side of things. Tax hikes are fine too so long as they don't affect him. He isn't an unborn baby so killing a few million more doesn't affect him either.

Him just can't seem to see the big picture, or himself in it. Show him a little picture...a close-up of him and him alone. That one he recognizes. Doesn't need a picture at all really. A handy dandy compact mirror will do just fine for him, him, him.

The DOMA decision has zero effect on me. Roe vs. Wade has zero effect on me. What other people want to do with their own bodies has zero effect on me. What other people want to do in the privacy of their own homes has zero effect on me.

Since the DOMA decision was in effect a giant tax cut I would think Republicans would be thrilled.

I 100% agree with your characterization of the "definition of a human being" as outlined in Roe v. Wade.

Freeman

No, that is not what they did.

What the court has said is that a person or persons cannot be denied the same legal benefits as persons in another group based upon their sexual orientation.

Marriage, as defined for the purposes of status and eligibility, cannot exclude a citizen due to their sexual orientation.

The court has not defined any behavior as acceptable.

The Supreme Court redefined what is and isn't a human being in Roe vs. Wade. They also gave the women who choose to kill those babies (aka non-human beings) infinitely more rights than the babies they contract out to be killed.

Perhaps they'll one day give animals human rights while taking away human rights from certain groups of people...like Christians, or Conservatives. Today we can kill any baby we want but can't even think about disturbing a sea turtle's nest.

My rights were indeed violated by the DOMA decision. 25 years ago I married a woman. Marriage meant a certain thing then. They've redefined that as well. It means something completely different now.

Your post is self-rebutting.

They just defined homosexuality as acceptable behavior. They define what is and is not acceptable behavior with regularity.

DOMA decision is correct in my opinion.

I have a real problem telling, (via federal law), one group of citizens that they cannot enjoy the benefits enjoyed by another group of citizens based solely on their sexual orientation.

The federal government has no business defining what is, or is not, acceptable behavior when the rights of other citizens are not violated.

Sounds like an ideal place for a huge Mosque after the EPA evicts you from it.

Rumor has it the Smokies is part of "the whole world", little cabins and 13 acres included.

Beep beep.

Posted 520 days ago.

Oh I'll be fine, thanks for thinking of me, though. I have a little cabin on 13 acres in the Smokies, if the whole world crashes I'll just go there and live on peanut butter. Never killed a wild animal but see them all the time, maybe I'll be a huntin' too.

As you teeter on the precipice of immorality, murder, bankruptcy, both morally and economically...as you see the rocky valley way down below, by all means, be a progressive and progress already.

Same-sex marriage can resume in California. Oh, this just keeps getting better by the minute.

Hey Tonto! I do not enjoy abortion. I see the issue as a deeply personal one between a woman and her medical professional, not one for regressive 'conservative' anti-First Amendment clods!

Wendy Davis stood up (13 hours!) against the troglodytes in Texas. THE best use of the filibuster, and it was for women's rights. Get over it Shrill, WOMEN must be the ones who decide this issue, NOT regressive pseudo religious Repuglicans.

Parts of DOMA killed. Bad day to be a homophobic misogynist.

Thanks for your tenacious pro-murder stance there Hiawatha. I like how it was couched in crap and slathered with slanderous scum. It's like a self-portrait, using bloody brush strokes.

You ought cut off your own ear now. That would really be art. Then pretend it's a potato chip and either cannibalize it too, or make a silk purse out of it.
