Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

Yes, Him did invent marriage.

I hate murder. It just so happens that much of that murder comes from Muslims, every single day of the year. I would love it if they stopped killing Christians and everyone else.

If that's a weird position to you, try hanging from your hands rather than your feet. Also, wait till the scimitar travels through your own neck. You and Jaxelfish can be selfish together until the bitter, bloody, end.

To heck with the cult of death on the left called abortion, and the cult of death in Islam called, if they're not Muslims, kill 'em all. Don't worry about anyone but yourself, and don't cry out till the scimitar is in the air above your head. Crying out one second before that is just hateful...right?

It takes work by all concerned normalake, start by looking in the mirror.

"Him", Tonto, did NOT invent marriage, an institution which has been instituted by interpretters of what they perceive as the 'WORD of God'.

The 'Creator' mentioned in the Constitution could easily be The Great Spirit, along with the usual incarnations of 'God' as envisioned by the Christian tradition, as well as Muslims, which Rshrill appears to hate. There is an ancient connection. Any time you denigrate any religious tradition, you diminish them ALL. Bill O'Turdley and FOX 'News' have been peddling the absurd notion of a 'WAR' on Christians, which is not how I see it. I see more hate expressed toward Muslims, and it is usually Christians expressing so, hence any backlash in kind. Shrill seeks to place Muslims in a category all their own when it comes to murdering in the name of Allah. I have known and worked beside many Muslims, and I have NEVER heard any expression of hatred for any Faith. Contrarily, we see in our government officials enacting laws aimed at those of the Muslim faith, as well as those of us who fall for the misconceptions.

"That judgement is reserved for Him."

If I'm not mistaken, it was Him who invented marriage. It meant a man and a woman.

Well, I guess we've reaffirmed the notion that this is a really hard promise to fulfill.

correction: their, not they're.

Surf?

People can pursue happiness all day long using words like civil unions. They needn't redefine words to pursue whatever they want to pursue. One thing they're trying to pursue is the English language itself. If pursuing the English language brings them happiness, my efforts to preserve it might also bring me happiness.

To heck with me though, it's all about them. They're language happiness has to trump mine. Got it.

Free is a word. Subject, surf, slave and any other word that would pigeon hole a man into a group that is not worthy in "our earthly eyes" to participate.

Our eyes do not determine worthiness when the rights discussed are endowed by our creator. That judgement is reserved for Him. Our mission in this promise is to promote the full participation and, by doing so, convert all men to the ideas of our founding principles.

Be a pretty nice place if we all allowed each other to pursue life, liberty and happiness.

I agree. It is a proven fact that Christians and conservatives are living in a world that has declared "open season" on them. Nobody, in good conscience, can deny that.

All the more reason to hold the words and the rest of the nation to the ideas of "the promise".

When amos57usa rants on about religion that is his right but he also demonstrates, albeit in an infantile manner, his disdain for the principles of our nation. He will only allow those he deems worthy to participate in the promise.

If it's just a word, what's the big deal to them? How many more words must they usurp? How many more definitions does the word need?

Can a person still be gay without being a homosexual? Rights are not words and words are not rights. Having to come up with a new word to describe a new thing is normal, usual and customary.

They should get their own word. Marriage has already been taken. Purple has already been taken too. One would never use the word brown to describe the color purple.

"Marriage" is a word. It is an idea that will survive until the end of man's time on earth. It will always hold a place in the non-secular community that is revered and holy.

To use the word in a secular sense to exclude a person's full participation in "our promise" is, in my opinion, a trespass on those person's rights.

Christians and Conservatives are the only groups left it is still OK to "offend".

Not only is it still ok, it is mandated, all across this federal government.

Not desirous of banning anything of the sort. I object to them calling the relationship "marriage". That's what traditional male/female relationships are called. That's what everyone called what I did with my wife 25 years ago.

With regards to Islam, I object to their violations of everyone else's civil rights around the entire globe. That murder thing they've got going on everywhere bugs me.

The most devout Muslims are the most likely to be the mass murdering kind. Their book demands it of them. So, worship Allah or Satan or whoever, just stop killing innocent folks.

I see nothing unacceptable about any of these views I've expressed above.

Is this a promise for some? Only those who believe in the word of Jesus Christ? How about only those who are agnostic?

Who decides the worthiness of a man's petition to participate in this promise?

If you adhere to the principle that man is endowed by his creator with certain unalienable rights then you must admit that to deny him those rights without due process is an affront to man's creator.

The promise of "America" is most definitely humanity's hardest promise to keep. It requires a deference to the rights of one over the rights of all and in the same breath, alternately, requires a deference to the limitations of those rights of the one as they would encroach on the rights of all.

This promise demands that we, as citizens, work to put aside our prejudices and allow for those who do not trespass against us to live without threat of trespass by us.

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. A couple who pledge themselves to each other and, in the eyes of the law, are legally joined should be able to avail themselves of the same social benefits as anyone else.

You cannot, in this country, ban Islam, Shintoism or any other religion based upon your belief in Jesus Christ. You have every right to worship in the fashion you desire. That is a founding principle. If you believe in the words and ideas of the constitution then you must rejoice in the inclusion of citizens in the promises of this nation. Race, creed or sexual orientation should not, ever, determine a citizens right to life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness in this nation.

Jaxspp, Roe v. Wade includes an "entity", other than the principle, the I, (and many, many others), consider to be a human being. Your rights end where another persons begin. A person has the right to determine if and when they get pregnant but, IN MY OPINION, after they are pregnant there is another person who has a right to live in the equation. Excluding cases of rape and incest, you give up your rights when you create a new person.

That is a huge difference in the two cases.

The people of Florida should open a new theme park dedicated to Mr. Rubio. The Disney Land name is already taken, so how about...

Primary Land. Make sure there is a merry-go-round with nothin' but RINO's to ride around in circles on. Employ scores of clowns in suits, ties, and wingtips too, and make sure everything is written in Spanish, so any English speaking people need to bring their own translator for deciphering. A tunnel of stupidity would be nice too, where one gets to hear campaign promises alongside actual deeds, and make sure the water the little boaty thingamabobs float on is a full-scale replica of the Rio Grande. At the entrance post two life-sized pictures. One of Allen West in full dress blues, and one of Rubio with five burritos and a fajita sticking out of his mouth like so many Cuban cigars.
