Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

I have a little question for all you left-fielders:

Would you rather have 100% of the efforts of one man or woman, or 1% of the efforts of 100 men or women?

Still waiting for Normevangelist to share with me some of those "plenty of nontraditional marriages" he claims are in the Bible.

Jaxofiction's example of a woman dying from not having an abortion doesn't fly. Doesn't even walk. Perhaps he didn't read the story he linked to.

...and if one house is controlled by one party then they must have voted for it. Right?

Posted 541 days ago.

Freeman

I mean you do understand that those budgets went through markup and reconciliation right? Before the president can sign them into law both houses of the U.S. Congress must pass them.

Posted 541 days ago.

Freeman

If the republicans didn't vote for it there would have been no budget. They controlled the House.

I guess I'm not sure what you are referring to.

The "clinton tax plan" is not the balanced budget that ultimately was voted on.

I think you're mixing up a couple different legislation's.

In fact, you demanded it, and still do. That's why I routinely call you a fool...because the iron shoe fits. So does the hammer and sickle.

I didn't accuse you of agreeing with me you mentally ill, jacka-s-s. I simply recognized your apparent recognition of problems I've been speaking of for years.

None of it should bother you in the least. You've voted for bigger and bigger, more intrusive government your entire life.

Now eat it. You can chase it with some Stolichnaya.

It's good that jack-a-s-s-e-s can sleep standing up, cuz you'll be standing in lines for hours for a loaf of bread. Learn to love it. You asked for it.

Free, the balanced budget of Gingrich? How many Republicans voted for the Clinton tax plan? We've discussed this before.

Our government is far too concerned about being liked and not about being tough.

We are competing with cheaters and, as a result, are fighting with one arm tied behind our backs.

I would like to talk more but there is more work then I can do in one day and allof the overtime is not leaving much spare time.

So, you're finally starting to wake up and smell the communism Mr. Foot? Blow your nose and take another whiff comrade. Then keep voting for bigger and bigger Government that takes more and more from the private sector, while violating more and more of your individual rights.

By the way, if there were no God, he couldn't possibly have endowed us with any unalienable rights anyway could he? Those rights will have to be tossed.

Relax though, under communism, the state is God, and you're nothing, subordinated to the collective. An approved collective consisting only of "proper-thinking" citizens who are then given the rights the state deems that collective should have.

Life and liberty will not be among them. You buck the state, the state shoots you in the head.

Big government equals big secrets.

I knew it was bad but we now have commissioner and deputy commissioners, one after another, who don't know what the heck is happening in the agencies they are paid to administer.

There is a culture of corruption in D.C. and everyone turns a blind eye.

That's why I give the congressional committees a lot of leeway in performing their duties. As long as they don't overstep, go get 'em.

Freeman if a country can produce what they need should do it in their own country, if more is needed or there is a surplus another country may according to their laws be trade for it. As it is now the world puts all of its eggs in one basket. We do not need or want some international commission saying that all trade is open to any country.

You are right it has been very detrimental to the USA citizens.

Freeman, you tea party type in the past talked a lot about government intrusion and how the government walks all over the constitution and now we have Snowden who leaked how bad it is and not a hardly a word from you on it.

Did you read the “the Guardian” today? Glenn Greenwald wrote a good article on how the government will come after you.

We now have secret laws that are kept from us and if you break them they will say ignorance of the law is no excuse.

The people of the USSR didn’t fear Stalin they feared Lavrentiy Beria and if we let our government keep all of these laws secret laws we too have our own Beria in control.

I wonder how much blackmail they have already collect and on how many people?

They must have something on David Gregory at NBC.

Breaking that "read my lips" promise ultimately cost him the election, and I think he knew it would hurt him, but he did it because he felt getting the budget in order was the right thing to do. The democrats threw him under the bus and spending continued and taxes went up.

That little stunt cost the democrats the congress and as a result we got a balanced budget out of Clinton and Gingrich.-

"....tell us how well trickle-down worked in continuing the Clinton momentum...."

The "Clinton momentum", as I am guessing you are using it, assumes unlimited capacity in the U.S. economy and no increase in foreign competition.

By the end of his second term Clinton realized the pressures from foreign competition and started to negotiate some of the free trade agreements that we now understand to have been....detrimental in the long run.

You are assigning fault to a theoretical mechanism that made attempts to function in an economy that was in flux. Not sure trickle up would have been any more successful, in fact, would have been worse. At least trickle down emphasizes a healthy private sector wherein trickle up relies on redistribution.

Freeman

See what I mean?

The "read my lips" promise was broken in a deal with democrats to increase taxes and cut federal spending.

Of course congress took the money, taxes, and kept the goods, spending.

That very scenario is prompted the republican candidates to ALL raise their hand when the offer of 10 to 1 was made during the debates.

You didn't address most of my points but at least it was civil. Back to work, but have the Zimmerman trial on. To be honest, I thought he was guilty, but there is no way a person listening could not have a reasonable doubt after listening to the girlfriend.
