Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

At least the young people of America are too well informed to fall for religious craziness and find better ways to spend a Sunday than nail themselves to a T.

24 men in the Philippines crucified themselves. One had on a hand's free cellphone, so I admire his foresight.

The problem:

"Honey, I told you never to call me while I'm being crucified!"

"This one's for us".

Dick Cheney's explanation for the second tax cut for the wealthy.

I would rather our economy be based upon some economic theory other than Darth Vader's greed.

Go Blue. Sorry about Kevin Ware's shattered leg.

Thank you Jesus. Thank you for descending to Earth. Thank you for your lessons, your miracles, and your examples. Nowhere is there more love, more grace, or more understanding. Nowhere lives more bravery, or more strength. You took justice and applied it to yourself, justifying us, and reconciling us to the Father.

You answered the prophets with yourself. The pictures they painted, you displayed in the flesh, and overcame the whole world with your Spirit. You are light personified. You pierced the darkness then were pierced yourself. The pain and punishment you endured for us is difficult to fathom. They didn't hold back. You let them have their way, and made a way for us. A very clear but narrow way.

You laid down your life and you took it up again.

From every atom which composes me, will I shout, pray, and sing, words that seem so inadequate to the occasion, because they include the word, I.

I love you Jesus...and you showed me what Love is. It is you.

Have ya' heard? Scientists have debunked the previous carbon dating of "The Shroud of Turin" which had dated it as being from the middle ages.

It has been dated again, and the final results show it to be from the time of...wait for it...Christ.

Is anyone surprised? I'm not :-)

No...really? Who'da thunk it? In related news, Al Gore still wants a carbon tax, and Obama is still causing the closure of many coal-fired plants, while giving billions to green cronies to either flush, or pocket.

"Twenty-year hiatus in rising temperatures has climate scientists puzzled"

"DEBATE about the reality of a two-decade pause in global warming and what it means has made its way from the sceptical fringe to the mainstream.

The fact that global surface temperatures have not followed the expected global warming pattern is now widely accepted.

Research by Ed Hawkins of University of Reading shows surface temperatures since 2005 are already at the low end of the range projections derived from 20 climate models and if they remain flat, they will fall outside the models' range within a few years.

"The global temperature standstill shows that climate models are diverging from observations," says David Whitehouse of the Global Warming Policy Foundation.

"If we have not passed it already, we are on the threshold of global observations becoming incompatible with the consensus theory of climate change," he says." (The Australian News)

Oh, and Happy Spring Bunny Day :) The lagomorph has laid enough colored eggs for us all and so we celebrate.

I read that, along with other changes, they took the word "booty" out of the bibles because the meaning of 'booty' changed from the spoils of war to the glutius maximus. Yesterday Chris Matthews said the bible doesn't change. Anyone can view the many versions of bibles so it's not the bible it's the bibles. So who decided to stop using the word 'booty' in how many versions of bibles? The christians can't agree if the Debil really exists or is some type of invisible force Thingy. The christians can't agree if Jona literally lived in a whale belly or if it's just a parable. The christians can't get their ghost story straight but one thing we all know for sure; Elvis is arisen.

Two Chrislican politicians, upset about gays redefining marrige said we can't let the gays change our language:) They were too stupid to realize that the 'gays' had already changed their language.

NOW we see that the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld WARs in Iraq and Afghanistan will have cost the United States Of America 6 TRILLION dollars by the time all is said and done. How is that for a budget constraint? Increasing costs to care for 2.5 million veterans, and paying down the debt from the Bush/Cheney, etc. UNfunded WARS. The figures are ON TOP of the TWO TRILLION already costing 'us'. We went to WAR while lowering taxes! Follow the money and see who profitted from the WARs. We sure 'liberated' Iraqis, as the great WAR criminal predicted the Iraq WAR alone would cost 50 BILLION, while he called higher estimates"baloney". AND, he says he would do it over again "in a minute". George Bush paints pictures of his feet in a bathtub, while many veterans of his despicability have NO FEET. Happy Easter.

Business and the wealthy are not the enemy, they are the engine. If you truly want to blame someone, blame a lame federal government.

I mean, really people, you just cannot view our economy in as if it exists in a bubble. It is not 1929, 1939, 1949, 1969. Those days have passed. The Japanese "invasion" in the 1970's and 1980's was just the first salvo. Now it's the Chinese, next it will, if we play our cards right, a resurgent U.S.

Spending our kids into insane debt is not playing our cards right.

Normanlake, really? You just made my point. You, obviously, are not thinking of the geopolitical context in which your baseline existed. You point to 1960? 15 years into European and Asian WW2 reconstruction and the damaged infrastructures and economies in those regions start to do what? Reignite? Competition in the global economy starts and directly corresponds to the start of the "gap".

Modern science can't even explain how the image on The Shroud of Turin got there. Pssst, it was the resurrection moment that put that image there.

Normellon also has a very thick shroud over his eyes, plugs in his ears, and his foot in his mouth. He's hopeless in so many different ways.

Correction: More than 500 witnesses.

"After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep." (1 Corinthians 15:6 NIV)

That's how Christianity got going. Truth, miracles, the recognition of the prophesied Messiah. Caiaphas' power base was threatened.

Jesus was a Jew, and all his earliest followers were Jews, including the disciples. The Jews didn't kill Jesus, Caiaphas did. The Romans complied with that killing and carried it out.

There were more than 5,000 witnesses to Jesus being alive, after his crucifixion and burial. That's why, Christianity flourished. Because it was the truth for once, rather than a bunch of obvious fables cobbled together.

Thanks for more lies though. I guess it's just a hobby with you.

Easter IS the resurrection Norsimplesimian.

While today in history a MAN was beaten, tortured, and died at the hands of those who hate. The myth is he rose from the dead. He was poor, but not in spirit. Happy Easter.

A rising tide will lift all boats...when the tide goes out, you are stranded, like the American Middle Class. Something is broken in the Promised Land, while you sing the praises of Jesus, those the least among us are starving while those at the top are prospering. Happy Easter.
