Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

The operative phrase for the left is simply, f*cked up.

I don't know. My logic and common sense tells me if welfare paid $60 grand a year everyone would quit their jobs and not live in public housing ghettos, not line up for hours at food banks.

...rocking before they f*cked it all up. They never stop f*cking it all up either until the people f*ck them all up.

"Denial". That's another one of those words "they" overuse along with racism, hatred, etc.

Of course when our side denies the ridiculous claims by their side, they offer zero proof of their claims and zero proof that our "denials" aren't 100% true.

Yes, global warming is 100% BS. Macro-evolution is 100% BS. Americans eating out of garbage cans is 100% BS. You are 150% BS.

Women's rights denial? You need to discuss that with your Muslim allies fool. Talk to them and your side which coddles them, about women's rights, gay rights etc.

It's all getting really, really, old. Your stupid leftist script that is, and the cobwebs covering what was once a brain.

Where's the light at the end of the leftist tunnel? There isn't any. Things will get "progressively" worse. Somehow, that's how "they" want it. Then they'll say "capitalism has failed" and go full blown commie. The reality will be that socialism has failed. Capitalism was r

Poverty denial, climate change denial, women's rights denial, science denial it appears we have a pattern here. Surely not walking in the shoes of the fisherman.

And what fraction according to you is that?

Posted 472 days ago.

"The average welfare family gets $168.00 per day in benefits."

No they don't. It costs the government $168 a day to pay and administer welfare, according to your article, but the family is getting a fraction of that.

It is? How?

Posted 472 days ago.

"And that doesn't even include state spending on welfare, which, when added to federal benefits, was more than $1 trillion in fiscal 2011. That's enough, the Budget Committee tells us, "to mail every household in poverty a check for $60,000 each year."

That's a whole lot different than people on Welfare getting $60,000.

Investor's Daily got the info from a Senate Budget Committee Report. It includes, food, medical, housing, childcare, cash, and other benefits.

Then take it up the...uh...road?

Take it up with Investor's Daily. Then take it up with your representatives.

Posted 472 days ago.

$168 a day is $60,480 in benefits. I'm not buying it.

Of course anyone who offers sane, common sense advice about how to get our government back on a sound footing is labeled a hater, a racist, and charged with making a "war" on something. War on women, war on kids, war on poor folks. It's ridiculous.

The status quo of hurdling down socialism's pathway drowns out any and all voices of conservatism. Any and all voices of reason.

So insanity prevails. It continues. We can't even see the light at the end of the tunnel. If huge changes are not made, the only thing we'll see at the end of that tunnel is a R.I.P sign.

There is no common sense left in DC. No morality or responsibility either.

There are now eleven states that have more people on welfare than they have working. Is that sustainable? 17 trillion in current debt and growing rapidly, another 50 trillion at least in future liabilities.

The average welfare family gets $168.00 per day in benefits. The equivalent of making $30.00 per hour. This info is from Investor's Daily.

Norm said lots of poor people are eating out of garbage cans. That's a bunch of bunk. They're making 50k per year doing absolutely nothing.

The ever-tightening chains that have been laid unto this country by lawmakers is an absurdity beyond belief, yet here those chains are, strangling the nation, burdening those who still work, rewarding those who don't.

Then the "healthcare" law comes along and places huge burdens on employers who have to cut already struggling full-time workers to under 30 hours per week. Why not go on welfare and get a huge raise in the process?

There has been no time in my lifetime where America wasn't under some kind of severe stress. The sixties had 3 major assassinations, a cold war, urban upheaval and a war that spilled over into the seventies, the seventies had the aforementioned war, Nixon, inflation, interest, worries about gasoline, the 80's looked good on paper but was really just a ringing up of credit cards, the nineties was prosperous but the beginning of the GOP war on any Democrat president, 2000's was 9/11 and an unnecessary war followed by the near collapse of the world economy. I know of no time in my life where all America had to do was sit around and sing 'It's a Grand Old Flag'.

Indeed she is here among us still, albeit relegated to the hearts and minds of some of her people. Those people still number in the tens of millions. We are among those people. She in us and we in her. We can place her back where she belongs, as a lighthouse to the world.

I miss the country of my birth. I miss the pride I used to have in her. I miss singing all of those patriotic songs and really meaning every word. Somehow they don't ring true to me any longer, and it deeply saddens this heart.

She was was my first love, right after Momma. I want her back, and very well may have to expend my last breath in achieving that sincere wish. So might you. It'll be for our kids, grandkids, and so on, who have seen but shadows of her former greatness. She was The United States Of America. Perhaps she'll return and live among us.

Dear America:

Wish you were here.

Love,
