Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

Find a copy of the Fourth Amendment. Then have someone translate it into dummy-drone for you. I'm not going to try to explain anything to you regarding the smorgasbord of scandalous behavior from this administration. You are way too stupid and way too far gone to get anything out of it. Just goosestep along with them.

Hitchens got eaten up by cancer not too long ago. Who knows, perhaps he had a deathbed conversion. Maybe you will too, if your death is moderately long and drawn out like his was. If you die suddenly though, well, sorry about that. You had a lifetime of opportunity. No excuses.

Hitchens liked guzzling straight whiskey like it were water. I guess happy, fulfilled people do that, right?

Go ahead, up-end a fifth yourself, You can be just as "happy" as he was. I won't celebrate his death though like Jax does. I'll just refer to his entire life as a sad tragedy. Tragic for those who followed, and were swayed by him too.

So rshill you would say that government should never watch the nonviolent political activity that American citizens participates in? As I see it the Tea Party had many protest rallies and its members were encouraged to disrupt local government meeting throughout the USA.

Is this not a reason for the government to investigate them as not qualifying for nonexempt tax status?

“Nothing optional—from homosexuality to adultery—is ever made punishable unless those who do the prohibiting (and exact the fierce punishments) have a repressed desire to participate. As Shakespeare put it in King Lear, the policeman who lashes the whore has a hot need to use her for the very offense for which he plies the lash.”

? Christopher Hitchens, God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything

So rshill is this why you protest gays so strongly, just to fight your own urges to be gay? Just look at the many antigay bible thumpers that got caught with a shaft of another man in their hand.

I’m not gay and could care less about what other adults do in their privet life.

All the scandals in Washington, the overreach of our government, the blatant police state and the constant attacks on our constitution can all be traced back to the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act was put in place by events on 9/11.

The Patriot Act, Homeland Security, and the TSA were all created to protect and preserve our freedoms and way of life. Look around . . . . They failed. The American way of life pre-9/11 is dead. All these agencies have done have transformed a free and prosperous nation into a police state oligarchy with their boots on the necks of all Americans.

We are all William Wallace tide to a rail with our guts hanging out and our nuts cut off screaming out our last word with our dying breath FREEDOM!

Amos, considering that rape and slavery were spoils of war in biblical times doesn't “booty” still work? All words have their roots in something

freem..I would highly recommend you go back to school and take a math class before claiming "all" your friends here.

Bob Dole was right. The GOP should be closed for repair so the Chrislicans can stop fighting the Chrislicans over The Gay Scouts of America. You should toss out all the old versions of bibles instead of just slowley changing them. Call your god and ask for an upadte. Booty no longer means the spoils of war. Change is constant.

Dream something. Be somebody. God made you purposely…for purpose. May God show you that purpose.

I’m dreaming about American values from the 40’s, some of it’s music as well, alongside electronic marvels from the 2000’s. Low taxes and high mobility. Blossoming opportunity too. Where achievement is celebrated and repeatedly attempted, and only the infirmed depend on Government largesse, others, if need be, are aided by friends, neighbors, family, and church.

Call me a dreamer, but dream something yourself. I’d hope it were similar to mine, but freedom is freedom, and your dream is yours alone. One dreamer ought never stifle that of another, nor force feed theirs to anyone, as we increasingly see today. Let’s have open debate and let the most beloved dreams prevail.

Present the several sides to our youth and let them decide which one seems right to them…laying out banquet tables of fare, allowing budding wisdom to choose. We’d soon see which dreamers outnumbered which, placing firm foundations under airy castles.

He says to all of them, individually and collectively…(it’s all the same with hombres). “I’ve got six bullets in this gun, he says. Which one of you wants to be first?”

I love the “old” values, but in the interest of putting silver linings around a host of clouds, there are some things better today. Would that we could add the good of today with the good of yesterday. How cool would that be? Aside from the instantaneous connectivity we now enjoy with each other here in the internet age, I can still grit my teeth if hombres approach me with evil intent. Only now I can say, “I’ve got 33 bullets in this pistol and 40 more in this rifle. Which one of you 73 hombres wants to be first?” Yep, that’s technology right there.

You know, we’ve dramatically improved many things, while ruining so many of those things the improvements should have sweetened.

Now and Then

Jimmy Stewart’s doing his thing again, in one of those quintessentially American, old Westerns. Made back in the good ole days, when modern movies actually showed, and with respect mind ya’, people in church…humble, thankful, with heavenly-bound, expressions of grace right before family meals too…themes of honesty, eternal truths, good versus evil, the good side almost always triumphant, unless a variation on the theme had even deeper goodness to reveal. Those ever-endearing qualities America treasured.

“Back at the ranch“, a fairly young Stewart’s backed into a corner, even as the great outdoors touches his spine, which is firm and straight…resolute. A half a dozen hombres pressing in, ready and willing to do him harm. He clutches his Colt Revolver, grits his pearly grinders, eyeing each one with contempt and deep, knowing, suspicion, with a dash of disgust thrown in. Disgust we watchers can feel.

We haven't used credit cards in well over a decade, but I do recall wanting to raise my credit limit a time or two back in the day.

Obama and Holder are going to have to get a major credit limit increase on both of their race cards. So is the entire democrat party and it's constituents.

I prefer assessing people based on their behavior. Race has nothing to do with behavior. I love my children unconditionally, but assess their performance based on their behavior too.

I've been blessed with a wonderful family, as well as the country of my birth. That country is the USA. She's been good to me, and I love her dearly. Always have. I feel like she's been beat up and bullied, and want to defend her as I would my wife or kids. It brings an emotional lump in my throat considering where she's been versus where she is.

It's a tough thing to see for those with sight. Trying to understand the other side seems futile sometimes.

Don't take the word of some media hack who cherry picks 30 or 40 seconds from a 3 hour hearing and broadcasts it out of context and full of spin.

Don't let the Limbaugh's and Sharpton's of the world think for you.

Open your eyes and ears and pay attention.

For goodness sake, when you get Issa and Cummings agreeing on anything you might want to pay attention to what's happening.

Speaking out against government abuse is not treason my ignorant friend, it is your duty as a citizen of this republic.

I would highly recommend you go back to school and take a civics class HH.

I don't suppose you were involved in any anit-war protests in the 60's were you? Maybe even Code Pink today?

I would recommend to all my friends here that you have no inalienable right to determine, for anyone but yourself, what constitutes qualified thought and expression under the 1st amendment. Neither, I might add, does the IRS.

Hypocrisy abounds on all sides in these matters and it is time we all recognize that. Tune in to what the heck is really happening. Watch congress at work, DVR hearings, stream them live, but for America's sake LISTEN!!!

Get the picture folks? These "people" would be perfectly pleased if the Government started rounding folks like me up.

But I'm too square to be round, and too opinionated to shut-up. I am peaceful though. Never hurt anyone in my life, other than in self-defense. Don't plan to either. I do plan on defending myself though.
