Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

Sinful acts, including murder are condemned as sin in Christianity...Judaism too. Does "thou shalt not kill" ring a bell? How about "do unto others as you'd have done unto you"? Murderers who claim to be Christian are violating the Bible and tenants of that faith. Muslims on the other hand are following their book to the letter when they do it.

Christianity and Judaism condemns murder. They disallow it. Islam demands it. Huge difference.

Unwittingly bringing small pox to the new world was not an act of treachery. They didn't even know things called germs existed at that time. Christian women were slaughtered and raped by many Indians as well. Lots and lots of people were scalped, bleeding to death as a result. You like to ignore the deeds of some factions while using hyperbole to describe those of another.

Christianity also brought down slavery with the abolitionist movement.

...not all that long ago. Evil comes in many guises, be the guise of Muslim, Christian, Athiest, or the American/Muslim Taliban.

Rshill (notice the lack of the extra R), searching for a biscuit in a garbage can is NOT a good place to look, but as is your wont, you fail to understand that a great many Americans seek their daily bread in just that place. I personally have never had to, but have SEEN it happening. Also, there is nothing "sacrosanct" about my beliefs. I take issue with your First Amendment denial of just such sacrosanctness of the Muslim faith. Once you cross that line, it becomes and expression of HATE. Nobo, 2000 years? Really? Christian groups nearly obliterated American Indians in atrocious manners, and yes, slicing a saber through the necks of women and children is a beheading. Not that long ago, particularly in the American South, African Americans were routinely lynched, and beaten and disemboweled for simply BEING *****. So do not attempt to differentiate the actions of present day Muslim extremist factions from the atrocious behavior of a whole society of American 'Christians'.

Nobo, nice post. You did lose me a bit when you mention the Government having no role, as government is SUPPOSED to be of, by, and for the people, which with the present Oligarch/Corporateocracy, is not the case. There appears to be a public teat which is overused and abused, but the cycle of poverty is endless. Ah, cursive, it seems so civilized.

Amos, who and what you worship or choose not to worship is, never has, never will be my business. So pray or not pray to your heart is content. But remember this. Other people carry some very different beliefs. There are savages in this world that would cut you head clean off if your non-belief offended them. Then again, before the welfare state it was church charity that clothed, fed, and helped the homeless change their life. It was a community based system that cared for its own while keeping an open door and heart for nonbelievers like yourself. There was no need or want of big government to dole out a monthly check to people too downtrodden and dependent to look for work. The church community found or made jobs for people – gave them a purpose and helped restore self respect. Did you know that in christian schools they still teach students to write in cursive?

nobo..I guess that one snake that could talk didn't pass on his genes that guided the development of voice capabilities. One might think that would have been an adaptive trait for snakes.

Out of two brands of religions you don't have to purchase the least worst. In Michigan we can worship Paul Bunyon for free. Paul was created so we Americans could have our own jesus type fableguy without upsetting the christians.

"Occasionally you can find a good biscuit in a garbage can, but that's not the place to look"...especially since it doubles as Normaggotmuffin's fishing cabin.

How and why is your "different path" sacrosanct but mine is not? You continually decry me as being out of step with you and others as something horrid. Why is that? Must I walk in your goosestepping prints to be viable? No I must not.

Who do I want to kill? Who do I want to hurt? The answer is nobody. Don't want to hurt anyone. So why not chill with your hyperbole?

The entire progressive world is turning everything into crap. Bad is good and good is bad these days. Common sense is being horsewhipped daily.

And why, when I bring up the continuous atrocities of barbarians do you ignore those atrocities and point elsewhere? Are daily Muslim acts of murder and mayhem justified in your mind?

The sheer ongoing evil perpetrated by these Islamic groups without being called out on it by people like you is simply other-worldly astounding. You'd think differently if those acts were visited upon you.

In keeping with NS' train of thought, I'll add this.

freeman..Congratulations on being smarter than the four judges who voted against gay marrige and smarter than whomever wrote whichever gospel however many thousands of years ago. This gives me FAITH that some day you will admit to being in the condition of being god free like me. It's not our choice and there is nothing known to man that we can do about it but wait here with our god nets :)

While acknowledging a barbarous past of the Christian religions, let me weigh the relevancy of atrocities done 2000 years ago to the Muslim atrocities being perpetuated today. Sorry Norm your argument doesn't stand. Even the most radical Catholics today do not condone rape of non-Catholics, murder of innocents, send children into crowds with bombs strapped to their bodies, involve themselves in “honor” killing of woman who dare to dance and smile in public or behead clerics of another religion. To put it bluntly but accurately: Muslims are in actions and deeds savages who cannot control the inhuman urge and impulse to murder and maim anyone that runs afoul of their own beliefs.

There is an obituary this morning for Socrates Kent. I didn't know the man but that sure is a great name.

Here is truth You (rshrill) are stupid if you can so naively cite beheadings and atrocious behavior by Muslims while FAILING to comprehend the murderous behavior over the centuries by Christians. I contend you either NEVER read your King James version of the bible, or are simply incapable of comprehending what you DID read. How utterly moronic to present your hatred for the faith of others, when you have NO comprehension of your own reference book. I am astounded at your simplistic and uncalled for notions and misrepresentations of both the opinions and beliefs of those of us who choose a different path.

I do not hate you, rshrill, I PITY you. I have NEVER hated in this forum, and you have repeatedly, and lying about it only exposes you further. I am A Muslim.

Many of "the poor" here slaughter themselves. See Chicago.

Posted 428 days ago.

surefoot

Jean Donovan and three religious sisters–Ita Ford, Maura Clarke and Dorothy Kazel–were serving the poor in El Salvador at a time when America thought it wise to back right-wing movements that indiscriminately killed anyone they imagined backed Communism or social change.

The School of the Americas was the training ground for the Latin American commandos that committed so many atrocities in El Salvador, including the rape and murder of Donovan and the three nuns. The American military machine schooled these commandos in more effective ways to slaughter the poor. The Central Americans must have been apt students at the School of the America’s headquarters at Fort Benning, GA because of the level of the brutality they unleashed when they returned home.

Here's a other little daily headline from the world of Muslims:

"Catholic Priest beheaded by Syrian rebels as mob cheered on"

Ya' reckon that has anything to do with the murderers being Muslims? Is it a people thing or a Muslim thing?

It's a Muslim thing. Don't hate it though Normuhammed, embrace it. Always remember hate the good, embrace the evil. Or just hate the good and ignore the evil. That too will keep you in fine commie standing.

If ever I need to remember all of things I hate, I'll simply refer back to all of your BS posts. Keep track for me. Your own hatred for me should motivate ya'...and if we we ever need a new set of train tracks from here to Mackinaw City, we can use all the beams in your eyes as railroad ties.
