Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

"In a report released Tuesday, Bloomberg reports that black home ownership has collapsed to an 18 year low."

Hmmm, who was President 18 years ago? Well, it was 1995. That would be three years into the Clinton admin. The first black President who was white. Obama is the first black President who is also white.

Blacks vote overwhelmingly for democrats. Why? They always do better when republicans are in charge. Why do you suppose that is? It's probably because conservative policies whoop the stuffins' out of "progressive" policies consistently...that benefits everyone.

Obama inherited a horrible economy though from the guy who was President for the last 4 years. That guy's name was also Obama.

Why, I'll bet if Obama "had a son", he'd look just as stupid, and would be every bit the complete failure as Dadda.

Go "explain imports" to Brazil, then China, then GM. After they tell you what an idiot you are, come on back and I'll tell you once again.

I'm nowhere near my league in this idiotic paper. You are certainly nowhere near mine. I'd have to dig a hole with well drilling equipment to find your league.

You haven't explained anything nor can you. You just grasp every defensive straw you can find, then latch on to new straws as your previous ones are added to flimsy hut.

You couldn't run a lemonade stand, even if government regulations allowed you to.

The guy who has never run anything in his life on his own telling the successful entrepreneur he doesn't know business.

More chocolate cheesecake all around folks! Aaahahahaha!

Loser. Order follower. You are nothing.

This just in: Sarah Palin announces, "Thank goodness Castro is gone, this is a victory over communism."

Posted 362 days ago.

Forget it RS, you are so out of your league, whatever that is, discussing American business it is ridiculous. I gather your league might be pyramid schemes, which has no bearing here. I would explain imports to you, but it would be futile because it involves.....logic and common sense. And you would just bring up the same topic later.

Normskull, incomes are higher in right to work states. Explain that. Employment rates are higher too. Explain that.

Nevermind, just keep blindly adhering to a failed ideology, where facts are fiends and lies are laurels.

Why was it not a "logistical nightmare" for Toyota and Datsun to send their wares all the way across the ocean? You be launching into self-rebuttal as fast as your little buttal can carry you huh?

The only nightmare I see is the result of your ideology. Nothing logical or common sensical about any of it. It doesn't build anything...it destroys everything.

rshill7

Oh now that's the reason. I thought it was logistics. What an inconsistent fool you are. A sycophant if ever there was one. Surely you can grasp at a straw or two more and try spinning into fool's gold.

You should rather construct an ultra tiny hut with it and set it up on Eight Mile Road. Is Eight Mile Road in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains? I didn't think so. We'll ignore what you say too, and simply watch your silent film. I'll simply throw another 78RPM record on the Victrola for you too.

And from the 1890-1970 the American autos were mostly the only game in America, with a little competition from VW and some other minor makes, so where they were made didn't matter. After 1970 came the foreign invasion of Toyota, Datsun, etc.

Logic. Common sense.

Posted 362 days ago.

Well, let's see, I wonder if the founding fathers of the auto industry being from the Detroit area had anything to do with the industry being started there?

Logic. Common sense.

"I never had relations with that red line...not a single time..."

Yeah, that sounds familiar.

Posted 362 days ago.

rshill7

Obama says "he did not set a red line, the world did."

Deny, divert and obfuscate. Don't ever even consider what exits his dog-hole. Every word which issues forth from said dog-hole is irrelevant...meaningless. Instead, watch his behavior.

This movie needn't be a talkie as the script is one big oft-repeated collection of lies. The silent pictures alone reveal the subversive enemy within.

Now we just need some ivory tinkling depression era piano music to go with it. Turn down the TV and crank up the Victrola.

rshill7

Why wasn't it a logistical nightmare between 1890 and 1970? You have a new, ill-conceived, ridiculous excuse for every democrat failure don't you? I wouldn't even call them excuses really. Just lies, same as always. You've got nothing else. Lies and delusions of grandeur.

You exhibit neither logic or common sense. You're simply a cheerleader for stupidity and national suicide.

I don't think anything would be better served by Detroit! Detroit is like a business hospice, where business goes to die. GM would rather be anywhere than Detroit. I wouldn't live there for a free hundred thou per year. Would you?

Posted 362 days ago.

"Exports of GM of Brazil in 2005 represented new record, reaching a value of US$ 1.6 billion, for the shipment of 114,994 units in "CKD" and 125,678 vehicles ready for some 40 countries around the world. The main market in the area of exports was Mexico, followed by Argentina, Venezuela, South Africa and other Latin American countries."

Now what is the main market for the Brazil plant? But RS thinks these markets would be better served by Detroit.

Logic. Common sense.

Posted 362 days ago.

If you were building an automobile plant in America in 2013, would you build it in the middle of the country to shorten your logistics to both coasts, or would you build it in Michigan, which is pretty much a logistical nightmare to ship west?

Logic. Common sense.

'Right to work'....FOR LESS.

"General Motors has announced plans to spend $600 million to upgrade and expand its Fairfax, Kansas plant, which produces the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse."

"It also has announced it will hire 1,450 workers at a plant in Brazil that is adding a third production line."

Does Kansas have any place like Detroit? Is Detroit in Kansas? How about Brazil? No and no.

Kansas is a "right to work" state.
