Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

A Republican Economics professor. Probably thinks trickle-down works.

"Beyond that, I know that there are programs, there are charitable organizations, there are hospitals here who do provide charity care if there’s an instance of indigency and the individual is not eligible for existing programs that there can be some cooperative effort. No one in this country, given who we are, should be sitting without an option to be addressed..."

In lieu of a good policy that will get her treatment a hospital. Got that one too free. Alpena General will treat her for free, a charity case? OK. We understand you perfectly.

Free, thanks for setting the price on getting an American released. So if the Taliban says we want 1 commander or we are cutting off this American's head, you say "Go for it". Got it.

You're an intransigent drone yourself. Just too dumb to notice it in yourself.

But as a simple test, drive down the left side of the road tomorrow. Stop at the green lights, and go at the red.

If your car has manual clutch and gears, start out in fifth, press the brake rather than the gas, and ignore the clutch completely.

Oh, but those are mere rules of the road, right? Right.

So! Don't be so intransigent about them.

U.S. Constitution. Rules meant to keep government in a cage.

Get back in your cage government, you intransigent bastard.

One more thing regarding your intransigent remark while simultaneously being as intolerant and as intransigent as one could possibly be.

Let's suppose you were trying to teach someone a song on a piano as written. Said song would consist of a particular set of specific notes, written in a specific sequence, to a specific time signature.

If played in the original key and not the key of C, it would consist of X number of black keys, and X number of white keys. Those keys, as played, and when played, would produce the written, desired, song.

An intransigent player would play it as written. A non-intransigent player could change a note or two or twelve.

Who would ever want to listen to the song played in such a way?

Oh you could vary the time, the rhythm, or the speed, and folks might recognize the tune, but if you played white notes for black, or attempted to place grey notes for either, you'd have neither a song, a melody, or anything at all, other than annoying noise.

Instead of calling us a tawdry, triple X-rated name, you could've just as easily informed us that you are FOR inordinately high taxes, and AGAINST the U.S. Constitution as written.

I'd hate to visit the interior of what you call a mind for even a millisecond.

Your inner and outer filth, and utter lack of truth disgusts me.

Yup, I'm prejudiced, in that I know I'm not in favor of communists, nazis, religious zealots, monopolistic corporations, corporate personhood, government spying on it's own citizens, terrorists, and many other things. I suspect we all are in our own ways. As to the teabaggers, I'm prejudiced against them, too. I think they are the latest extremist cousins to John Birchers and domestic militias, and have held this country back in both an economic and social sense with their intransigent beliefs. So yeah, if they're backing someone, I'm pretty sure I'll be against that someone.

I mean really, all he did was unseat a career politician that the electorate felt did not represent them.

I think people just want capable and honest men and women to run for congress.

"...Brat criticizes the political Right for simultaneously advancing the pursuit of individual liberty while pushing laws restricting abortion, gay marriage and gambling, and the Left for coercing others to "fund every social program under the sun."..." ~Wikipedia~

Sounds like common sense to me.

Kind of like "A Brave New World"?

So you just label a man based upon the support he may or may not receive from some entity that has a similar political view?

Isn't that a form of prejudice?

Why not read some of his works, then form a coherent argument against them?

Why is it that those people who lean to the left MUST ALWAYS just label in such a Yin and Yang fashion.

With you 100% or guilty of the most extreme alternative? No room for ideas in that philosophy.

From what I've read, NO Tea Party group put money into Brat's campaign because they all thought he didn't have a prayer, but now that he's won, they're all dancing like they just won the World Series. Remember, Virginia is an open primary - a lot of Democrats voted for Brat, and a lot of Republicans voted against Cantor. And Brat says "Atlas Shrugged" & Ayn Rand are an important part of his philosophy? If he thinks science fiction for teenagers is important, he's - you guessed it - a loon.

Gerrymandering and the Republican House

By Sean Trende - July 1, 2013

I would recommend you read this Real Clear Politics column. It shows actual voting data with regard to gerrymandering and the GOP.

I've read a number of articles that state the opposing position but none of them offer any data to support their claim. They leave that up to the foggy group "many analysts".

On what grounds do you make that assumption hville. Please specify what TEA Party organization backed him and specify the position(s) you have an issue with and why.

Posted 42 days ago.

"This particular Virginia District is one of the 3 most conservative districts in the entire country hackville." Substitute "gerrymandered" for "conservative" and you might have something...sure, Brat has credentials and education, but if the teabaggers are behind him, he's bound to be a loon. His colors will show soon, Maybe not as crazy as Cruz or Lee, but he's sure to be a whacko just the same...

Lynn Stuart Parramore has written a scathing article about David Brat on AlterNet, (among other things), if you want some fodder for debate.

Her doctorate is in English so, of course, she director of AlterNet's New Economic Dialogue Project. English to economics..... OK.

Mr. Brat has a doctorate in economics from American University. Graduated from Princeton Seminary, worked for one of the largest accounting firms in the world.

He currently is a professor of economics. WOW, what a loon.

By the way, former consultant to the world bank, served on many boards both public and private.
