Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

hville is living in OZ.

I don't have any friends or business associates that enjoy their socialized systems. That would include Canada, UK, France and my brother in law in the Netherlands.

Keep dreamin' hville. You will never get to socialized healthcare in the U.S. as long as more than 50% of the people oppose it. Won't happen.

Truth notwithstanding too.

We'll get there. In the meantime, being self-employed, I'll get a new Blue Cross plan and save a ton of money in the bargain. Accepted virtually everywhere.

Yup,a lot of problems, even going beyond the website problems. Should have gone to expanding Medicare to every US citizen from birth, but that would have been (gasp!) socialized medicine! Oh no! I have Canadian friends who think our system is the goofiest thing ever. They, and most of the rest of the industrialized world have lower costs and better results. Been that way for some time, insurance company propaganda not withstanding.

FRAUD

So, why am I mad now?

Not because of the cost, but because in the run up to the vote and beyond the administration and the democratic party made promises that they knew were false.

In short, we were lied to; over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

My plan had everything I could want. It was "cadillac" in nature and fairly inexpensive. It's gone because it did not meet the HHS regulations with regard to offerings I did not need or want.

The republican proposal, unlike that of the dems, was to not create a whole new goliath but to target problem areas. Michigan already banned preexisting conditions, our commish had started to eliminate lifetime caps, and was working on expanding the number of companies that could offer insurance in our market. Add tort reform and you get a system much like the auto insurance system that costs a fraction of what health insurance costs.

But that, my friend, is an inconvenient truth.

You would also be smart to not focus on the website and start focusing on the ramifications of the law at large.

The dems have corrupted the system that served 90% of the population to cover the 10% that needed a solution. Problem is, we will stll have 5% to 10% uninsured...again.

Keep trying though, I REALLY need a good laugh.

Good grief jax, don't comment if you don't understand how this mess is setup.

The ACA has done nothing to eliminiate the anti-trust waivers the insurance companies enjoy.

Go and look at the exhanges in all areas, you get 1 of 4 plans. You can't go through life this uninformed and expect to succede. Pull your head out of Nancy Pelosi's fanny score a clue.

The data is clear.

Jaxocommie: Did I not say up to 70%? And did you not read the quote: "44 percent of MDs said they are not participating in the nation’s new health-care plan. Another 33 percent say they’re still not sure whether to become ObamaCare providers."

44% + 33% is 77%. 70% could be a low ball number. Mmkay? Shaddap.

I know you expected perfection coming out of the gate, it rarely happens in the Real World. The plan will be modified and adjusted as situations arise. Republicans have a chance to make an alternative proposal, but people with pre-existing conditions or other issues are not really of any concern to them.

I wonder if the number of young, healthy Americans who have signed up for O-Care has reached 10,000 yet?

Posted 391 days ago.

Sorry, Free. So you've been to the website and your premiums have doubled. Perhaps if Michigan had been smart and set up their own exchange you would have more choices, but Michigan opted out, probably to spite Obama, but they spited you instead. Sorry Republicans tried to prove a point on your back, but that's the way it goes. Keep us posted.

PS - I'm keeping my same plan and doctor.

"The Hill"

A federal appeals court on Friday struck down the birth control mandate in ObamaCare, concluding the requirement trammels religious freedom.

The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals — the second most influential bench in the land behind the Supreme Court — ruled 2-1 in favor of business owners who are fighting the requirement that they provide their employees with health insurance that covers birth control.

"Another 33 percent say they’re still not sure whether to become ObamaCare providers", does not mean they have opted out. Let that sink in for a minute.

Math Impaired RS, you can twist it all you want. A lie is a lie. If 70% were not participating, the article would read 70% were not participating. The inability to admit when you are wrong is a definite symptom of a paranoid personality.

Did the administration think that none of this would get out? If so, they have proven themselves stupid.

If not, they have proven themselves, again, STUPID!

“He went like one that hath been stunn'd, And is of sense forlorn: A sadder and a wiser man He rose the morrow morn.”

(Samuel Taylor Coleridge, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner)

This is the same poem the phrase, "albatross around the neck" comes from.
