Letters To Ed :-)

"We've been duped by the Republicans. Kentucky Sen. and minority leader Mitch McConnell in a news conference one day after the election, stated that the single and sole goal of the GOP over the next two years is: to make Barack Obama a single term president. What an arrogant and obnoxious goal and statement. There agenda before the election was to get votes by promising that there first goals were jobs, the economy and health care reform. It seems their goal is to grab power, not to do things for the people that are in need of jobs and or unemployment pay, health care for those that don't have it, and the people losing their homes. This is the same party that wanted the auto plants and their suppliers to go out of business. We are just coming back from what they did to this country, and now we have them back to do the same things to our country again. What a mess the next two years is going to bring to this country. Talk about partisanship." Carl D. Leow Rogers Cit

"President Obama is either the most inept chief executive we've ever elected or he is the biggest liar we've ever elected. "

Sorry you are worse off than you were in 2008. Many of us are much better off and appreciated Obama pulling the Bush car out of the ditch.

My point Jaximian, is that The Communist Party USA believes in travelling down the same road as your democrats. Do you not have a problem with that?

Again, how far is too far? How much Government control is too much? Is it a line that your party will ever decide to draw somewhere? I mean, "the Barbarians are at the gates". It ain't the Avon nor the Tupperware lady at the door.

Are you really OK with your kids and grand kids being led around by the nose? I am not. It bugs me to no end. I vote like lives depend on it, because they most definitely do.

And how about that IPAB panel? You're moving rapidly into the "non-useful phase of your life aren't you?

We can then extend that program to fast food consumption, those who don't clean their homes as well as "we" determine they should.

All owners of motor vehicles must, as a result of a new expansion, pay a pollution tax.

How far are we going to go? Who decides? You citizens, apparently, don't think the constitution is very effective any more so lets explore a U.S. that has rid itself of that "obsolete" document. Floor is open.

Here's another thought, let's legislatively create a registration system like the medical marijuana law that would regulate and record who buys tobacco and alcohol. Let's then impose an abuse tax on those registrants to offset the medical expenses "we" incur as a result of their use.

How about this, we abolish the tax code and sell bonds to fund public works, the military and social safety nets.

I'm not so sure the Pope had much to do with the M1 tank moving into the Fulda Gap in 1983, but you keep on banging that drum.

Not sure the Pope had much to do with the Patriot missiles that the 2/2 ADA deployed in the same time period, but you keep banging that drum.

Not sure how much the Pope had to do with the SDI program, the expansion of our nuclear sub fleet, our nuclear surface fleet, our mechanized infantry divisions,, etc. but you keep on bangin' that drum.

What a putz.

In its 1970 opinion in Walz vs. Tax Commission of the City of New York, the high court stated that a tax exemption for churches "creates only a minimal and remote involvement between church and state and far less than taxation of churches. [An exemption] restricts the fiscal relationship between church and state, and tends to complement and reinforce the desired separation insulating each from the other." The Supreme Court also said that "the power to tax involves the power to destroy." Taxing churches breaks down the healthy separation of church and state and leads to the destruction of the free exercise of religion.

TAX the 'churches'. They become active in politics, America gains from elimination of Church Welfare.

Duh, 'free'man, the Pope had more to do with the 'end' of the Cold WAR than Saint Ronnie, who sold guns and caused the murder of Central American nuns.

Think that might not pass constitutional muster?

Hey amos57usa, how about the congress passes a law that fines you for not going to church every Sunday? You have no choice in the matter, you go, get a signature from the pastor, and submit that on form 1040-FUBAR so as not to be "taxed" as a penal measure.

President Obama is either the most inept chief executive we've ever elected or he is the biggest liar we've ever elected.

There is no other option.

Your guys have messed up the recovery. Your guys have messed U.S. foreign policy. Your guys lied their way to re election. Your guys lied about every scandal that's been presented to them. Your guys have passed sweeping legislative changes to our way of life based upon LIES. Your guys have fumbled the ball over and over again and will not take responsibility for it. Point a finger and blame someone else, better yet, call them a racist, make up the "war on women" and open your mouth and LIE.

"..Mr.Gorbachev: I would like to be like Jack Kennedy, but I am only a Hollywood actor, Grade B. Tear down this wall, even though I know you already had it in the works and I am only grandstanding..." ~jaxspp~

"Tear down this wall" was a pivotal moment in winning the cold war jax. Under Reagan we spent the eastern block countries into oblivion. The resulting "peace dividend" allowed Clinton and Gingrich to pass balanced budgets.

To characterize Reagan like you did is stupid.

Kennedy had a very short and VERY tumultuous 3 years in office which led us to the Bay of Pigs and Vietnam just to name two.

I can't believe how narrow your view of history is. I mean, you just can't be relying on MSNBC for your "reality in the real world".

Yes it appears Bill Speer is against freedom of expression. Someone should write a letter to the editor and expose that he has illiminated comments.
