YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Ypsilanti police say a 29-year-old man has died in a shooting that left a 22-year-old woman injured.
The Ann Arbor News reports (http://bit.ly/1rutrdW ) Lt. Deric Gress said Derrick Andrews of Ypsilanti Township was killed early Sunday by a gunshot wound to the torso. An Ypsilanti woman was shot in the leg. Gress said she was in good condition Sunday afternoon after undergoing treatment.
Police were dispatched early Sunday after a report of gunfire during a fight in front of a large group of people. Police say a nearby fight between two women sparked the deadly shooting.
Gress says the gunfire was between people who knew each other. He said there was no suspect description to release Sunday afternoon.
