DETROIT (AP) — The Hunger Free Summer campaign provided more than 2 million meals to children in southeast Michigan this year.

Campaign leaders, Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan and Charter One Foundation will celebrate the milestone on Monday by giving lunch and a backpack with school supplies to 100 children at Martin Luther King Apartments in Detroit.

The Hunger Free Summer campaign works with companies and communities to help alleviate childhood hunger in Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties

After Monday's lunch the children will dance with volunteers from Charter One and Gleaners to Pharrell's "Happy," the theme song of this year's campaign.
