"I definitely felt like it was a good (season) start for us. We have some really strong hitters this year, but we have a new setter so it's going to take a bit of time to get all the timing issues down," Rogers City coach Jackie Quaine said. "Our serving was top knotch and I couldn't have been happier with that."
The Hurons were led offensively and defensively by Jena Tulgetske with 38 kills and nine blocks. Sarah Meredith contributed 33 kills while Alexa Quaine had 27 kills and 70 digs.
Ally Streich picked up 82 assists as a setter and had a good service day, knocking down 15 aces. Cassidy Purgiel added nine aces.
