Dr. Nabeel Khan, a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, has a joined the ARMC Medical Group Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Clinic at Alpena Regional Medical Center.
"I grew up in a smaller town in northwest Ohio and I enjoyed the personal connections that came with living in such a community," Khan said. "I felt those same connections when my wife and I visited Alpena. In addition I was also impressed with the sophistication of medicine practiced at Alpena Regional Medical Center."
Prior to moving to Alpena, Khan practiced in metro-Detroit and was on staff at William Beaumont Hospital Troy and William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak. He earned his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed a bachelor's degree in Integrated Life Sciences from Kent State University. He completed a general surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital.
Khan then traveled to New York and completed a hand surgery fellowship at State University of New York in Buffalo and returned to Michigan and to complete a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Detroit Medical Center, serving as academic chief resident his last year of training. He is board certified from the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery.
"I was always interested in helping others and wanted to be a physician from a very young age," he said on his interest to become a physician. "To me helping others to improve their health or condition through the practice of medicine was a calling that I wanted to dedicate myself to. I have been blessed with the opportunity to become a physician."
