Marissa Hill, DO, is joining Drs. Richard Bates, Brendan Conboy and Denise Schiebout and Bonnie Bartz at ARMC Medical Group OB/Gyn Associates.
"Northern Michigan is so beautiful and I am very excited to live in Alpena," Hill said. "I grew up in a small community on the St. Clair River and Alpena parallels some of the quaint things I loved about that community."
Hill received her doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. While attending medical school, she completed a master's in bioethics, humanities and society. She completed her obstetric and gynecology residency at McLaren Greater Lansing/Ingham Regional Medical Center and during her last year of residency was the chief resident. During her residency she managed high risk patients and enjoyed taking care of mother's that needed special attention.
Hill takes pleasure in traveling and during her training she completed a mission trip to Guatemala and studied abroad in Costa Rica where she observed the public and private sectors of Costa Rican health care. She looks forward to traveling around the world and continuing her passion to be involved in medical missions and improving public health.
She is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Osteopathic Association.
"Ever since I was a young girl, I always knew I wanted to do something in medicine. There are few things as special as helping a family bring a new son or daughter into the world," she said. "Being involved in a women's health care for the majority of her life, and helping her stay healthy is truly rewarding."
Dr. Hill is accepting new patients at ARMC Medical Group OB/Gyn Associates. Appointments can be made by calling 356-5228.
