Response to June 18 letter to editor from Carol Jaynes about a chained dog who was obviously neglected. I empathized with your concerns about the dog tied up in a field during thunderstorms and with no real life. The dog needs a loving home - one like yours. Some people don't deserve an animal - that's why our Humane Society screens owners carefully prior to adoptions. There are animal neglect laws in Michigan - some can result in a misdemeanor and fines - or more. I suggest reading about these below (ASPCA) and calling the Huron Humane Society for guidance. I would love to see this dog taken away. Keep us posted please.
