The leadership team of the League of Women Voters of Alpena County held its annual planning workshop on June 24 at the home of Treasurer Kay Ogger.
The group planning two upcoming July events: the LWV Candidates Forum on July 21 and the LWV Garage Sale on July 26.
The Candidates Forum will be for U.S. representative, Michigan representative and County Commissioner candidates who have someone running against them in the Aug. 5 primary election. The forum will be held in Alpena Community College's Granum Theatre from 7-9 p.m.

The LWV Garage Sale will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Donations of good quality items (not clothing) can be delivered to the church starting July 23. Call Ahrens at 657-0958 for a pick-up.
Co-President Pauline Buchner led calendar planning for other events, which included planning for local, state and national studies. Role descriptions of team leaders and streamlining of board structure were discussed.
Marcia Aten presented options of four leadership models: traditional, shared presidency, leadership team and management team.
