Alpena resident Trina Gray recently won the prestigious Beachbody CEO Award at Beachbody's summit in Las Vegas. Beachbody is a nearly billion dollar global leader in fitness and nutrition based out of Santa Monica, Calif.
Held annually, the Team Beachbody Awards are reserved only for those who push the envelope from every corner and put on a display of sheer excellence in their respective categories. Gray was selected out of 190,000 fitness coaches across the U.S. and Canada for the CEO Award. She was nominated by dozens of peers in the industry and chosen by the executive team at Beachbody headquarters.
"It is hard to narrow it down to one coach, but this year's award winner is incredibly deserving. She's a mom, a wife, a business owner, and a leader in her field. She is an incredibly thoughtful, insightful and vocal member of our coach advisory board," Beachbody CEO Carl Daikeler said when announcing the award. "I can't begin to tell you how valuable it has been to have Trina Gray on our Board. It is not a ceremonial position. Trina in particular has a way of examining an issue from all sides, putting aside any personal interest, and helping us settle on the right path. We are truly proud to have her as a Beachbody Coach and even more proud to honor her with this CEO Award."
The CEO Award is reserved for the individual who has best displayed a true commitment to Team Beachbody's Core Purpose - helping people achieve their goals and live healthy and fulfilling lives. This person is a true embodiment of the community, in that they work tirelessly to bring health, fitness, and happiness to others.
In her acceptance speech, Gray thanked her parents for raising her to be an independent thinker and able to go against the grain at times, even when it was not popular to do so. She thanked her husband of 14 years, Jeff, who is her best friend and partner in the business. She honored her team of coaches across the country and said that each of their fingerprints was on the award.
She said that running a local fitness business and national fitness team can be complicated, time-consuming and overwhelming, but when you see powerful stories of transformation - of parents who are able to raise healthier kids because they've adopted fitness and good nutrition as a way of life - it is worth every ounce of effort. Changing lives is the greatest reward.
Gray is the owner and operator of Bay Athletic Club led by 35 employees and founder of Team Rocsktar Fit, with more than 3,000 Beachbody fitness and nutrition coaches nationwide.
She had husband Jeff have two children, Jade, 10, and Colt, 8. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Madison with a bachelor's degree in journalism and is a certified personal trainer, national presenter and entrepreneur. The Grays are active members of the Alpena Community and co-chairs of this year's United Way campaign.
