Lucille M. Robb, 99, of Alpena, passed away at Touch of Country AFC on Sunday, June 29, 2014.
Lucille Marion Johnston was born June 6, 1915, in Alcona County to the late Robert M. and Lillian F. (Miller) Johnston. She started her teaching career following her graduation from Alpena County Normal at the young age of 18 years old. She continued to teach in both Alpena and Alcona County Schools until her retirement as a special education teacher from Alcona Public Schools in 1977. She married Victor Gordon Robb on Dec. 26, 1936, and he preceded her in death Nov. 20, 1977. Lucille was a life member of Ossineke Eagles and a former member of Ossineke United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two children, Gary (Iris) Robb of Spruce, Kathy (Bill Romel) MacArthur of Alpena; five grandchildren, Vicki (Kim) Dahl, Amy (Joe) Buck, Daniel (Lisa) Schultz, Jenifer MacArthur, David MacArthur; five great-grandchildren, Andy (Nichole) Dahl, Spencer Dahl, Elsa Schultz, Tristan Schultz, Austin Buck; and one great-great grandchild, Alyssa Dahl.
Mrs. Robb was preceded in death by an infant brother, Vean Johnston; and three siblings, Eva Trelfa, Helen Daly and Arnold Johnston.
Visitation for Mrs. Robb will be at the Bannan Funeral home on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. and will resume on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Karen Thompson officiating.
