Jonathan A. Lamb, age 52 of Rogers City, passed away June 27, 2014, in Rogers City.
He was born March 21, 1962, in Rogers City, to Alger and Janet (Flemming) Lamb.
Jonathan loved to play sports in high school, he was a starter in baseball and basketball and he graduated from Rogers City High School in 1980. Jon was employed in various places over his lifetime. Included in that was a time as a country music disc jockey at WHAK, working the weekday afternoon shift. He also worked at Borders Books in Ann Arbor, construction work in Gaylord, and factory work in the Traverse City area.
He currently served as chief custodian at St. John Lutheran School in Rogers City. Jonathan was an avid hunter until a hit and run accident in 1998 left him with closed head injuries resulting in seizures. He loved reading and spending time in the outdoors. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Jonathan is survived by his parents, Alger and Janet Lamb; brother, Richard (Riconda) Lamb; nieces, Kelleigh Lamb and Jordyn Lamb; Uncle,Harlan and Ruth Lamb; four aunts, Ruth Greve, Doris Bernlohr, Faye Lamb, and Jerry Lamb; many cousins; and dear friend, Rachel Goehmann.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. where Pastor Jeff Ryan will offer a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. visitation will resume on Monday at St. John Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. through time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eric Voigt officiating.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran School.
