Several local softball players earned all-state honors from the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association of Michigan for the 2014 season.
After winning the Division 4 state championship on Saturday, Rogers City had five players named to the all-state team. The Hurons' entire infield earned a nod: first baseman Morgan Hall, second baseman Alexa Quaine, third baseman Logan Fleming and shortstop Courtney Streich. Catcher Sarah Meredith also earned an all-state selection.
Other local Division 4 players named to the first team were Hillman pitcher Jensen Tchorzynski, Mio pitcher Jalen DeFlorio and Posen pitcher Ashley Meyers.
Onaway's Lexi Szymoniak earned an honorable mention in Division 4 and Alpena's Jenna VanDusen earned an honorable mention in Division 1.
