ROGERS CITY - Police have identified a suspect in a June 4 drive-by shooting at a Rogers City residence.
Rogers City Police Chief Matthew Quaine said a suspect has been identified, but declined to release his name as the investigation is ongoing.
"Investigators are out and have been busy," he said. "We've had good cooperation with the Alpena Police Department in this investigation, and also with other Alpena area law enforcement, which is very helpful in this matter."
Police responded to a St. Clair Street residence at around 2 a.m. on June 4 after someone drove by and opened fire on the occupied dwelling, according to a release. No one was injured as a result. Presque Isle County sheriff's deputies also assisted.
Quaine declined Wednesday to release any further information about the shooting.
Presque Isle County Prosecutor Richard Steiger said that while no arrests have been made, a person of interest in the shooting currently is lodged on unrelated charges in the Alpena County Jail after having his bond revoked.
"We're not accusing him of the crime, but he definitely is a person of interest in our investigation," he said.
