Rose A. Ferguson, age 88 died Saturday (May 24, 2014) at her home in Rogers City with her children by her side.
The daughter of Frank and Antonia (Drozde) Jenkot was born on Aug. 15, 1925, in Lisle, Ill., and graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1943. She and Carlton Ferguson were married on Dec. 31, 1946, at Lisle Presbyterian Church in Lisle, they moved to Rogers City in 1947 where they raised their children. Rose began working for the County of Presque Isle and retired as a legal secretary in 1976.
Rose was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Carlton, a son John, a daughter Rose Mary, and her sisters Francis, Mary, Stella and Helen.
She is survived by five children; Clayton, Portage, Mich., Annette (Ray) Clark, Kissimmee, Fla., Jim, Kissimmee, Fla., Bob (Stephanie) Omaha, Neb. and Mary (Dan) Pawlaczyk, Oxford, Mich., and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Honoring her wishes, Rose has been taken for cremation. A graveside Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday (May 30, 2014) at Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Hospice of the Sunrise Shore in memory of Rose A. Ferguson.
