ROGERS CITY- The Rogers City softball team swept Fairview 15-0 and 17-2 on Monday. The Hurons gave up only one hit for the day with Alexa Quaine pitching a no-hitter in the second.
Nikki Radke picked up the win in the first game, striking out six and giving up one run.
Sarah Meredith picked up three hits, including a home run, and three RBIs. Alexa Quaine hit two doubles while Morgan Hall and Kayla Fleury hit two hits each.
Autumn Idalski picked up a hit and three RBIs while Courtney Streich and Rachel Chojnacki each had a hit
Quaine struck out four in the second game on the way to throwing a no-hitter.
Meredith had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs. Logan Fleming had two doubles and four RBIs while Streich had a double, a triple and an RBI.
Morgan Hall, Cassidy Purgiel and Idalski had two hits each while Quaine and Fleury each had a hit.
Rogers City hosts make up games against Whittemore-Prescott today at 4 p.m.
Alcona 18, Hale 7
LINCOLN- A softball doubleheader between Alcona and Hale was cut short due to rain after five innings in the first game on Monday with Alcona up 18-7.
Kendra Cole pitched every inning for Alcona for the win. She struck out 11.
Nicole Walen led Alcona at the plate with three hits. Alissa Terpstra had three RBIs.
Alcona expanded broke an early 1-1 tie and took an into a 8-1 lead in the second inning. It came into the fourth with a 9-3 lead, which it expanded into a 15-6 spread in the fourth inning and an 18-7 spread in the fifth inning.
Alcona 10, Hale 1
LINCOLN- The Alcona and Hale baseball teams were rained out of a double header on Monday, with the Tigers up 10-1 in the fifth inning in the first game.
Although the Tigers scored four more runs during the fifth, the inning wasn't completed before the game was called.
Cody Franklin pitched five innings for the Tigers for the win. He gave up no hits, struck out four and walked one.
Alcona (7-1) was led at the plate by Nathan Swinson. He went 2-for-2 with a single and a double. He picked up three RBIs. Coda Gallagher went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Hale's (1-4) James Priest pitched 2 2/3 inning for the loss. He struck out one, gave up a hit, walked seven and gave up seven runs, four earned.
Kaydon Reimar finished for Hale, giving up three hits and striking out two.
Alcona hosts Mio on Thursday while Hale travels to Posen the same day.
Rogers City 3, Fairview 0
ROGERS CITY- Rogers City and Fairview were rained out of a double header on Monday, with Rogers City winning the first game 3-0.
The Hurons scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning after Quintin Kelly singled and Casey Szatkowski doubled. They were driven in by a Justin Salie single.
Jacob Malocha made it home in the bottom of the fifth inning on a passed ball before the game was called.
Casey Szatkowski pitched six innings for the win. He struck out 12 and gave up no hits.
