Against a change in children’s study habits

April 4, 2014
The Alpena News

I read an article a week or so ago in regards to the idea of changing children's study habits from being able to write in cursive and headed more towards a creative thinking idea. I dislike this idea for several reasons, first is the job to interpret past documents, secondly what do you do when you have a legal battle with an (X) in the box for the signature? What happens when a student changes to another school when they are in let's say tenth grade and can't write in cursive, are they sending them back to grade school to be able to function to the standards at the new school? Parents will have to research prior to relocating so they can find a school district that is of the same standards or we all will end up failing.
