Members of the Alpena High School Student Leadership Class participated in a Celebrity Server event at Big Boy Tuesday to raise funds to pay for dinner before prom. Leadership teacher Jessica Prittie said the support and generosity from the community was overwhelming and she was excited to see so many people turn out. Students paired up with Big Boy servers to deliver drinks, food and smiles to all the customers from 5-8 p.m. “This event was a great idea and allowed the students to get a feel for what waitressing is,” customer Annette Trelfa said. “The students did a great job.” All the tips and 10 percent of the sales during the event were donated to the class in support of pre-prom dinner, which amounted to around $1,300 for the evening.
