Alpena High School alum and Wayne State hurdler Christina Kollien finished ninth in the 60 meter at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Championships last weekend. Kollien finished in 9.29 seconds and was the highest freshman finisher in the conference. On the first day of the championships, Kollien broke the old school record in the 60 meter hurdles with a finish of 8.98 seconds. She was the only freshman to advance to the finals in the event and her time on Day 1 was the fastest time by any freshman in the conference in the 60m hurdles for the entire season. Kollien also ran a personal best in 200 dash, finishing in 27.43 seconds.
