BERKLEY- The Alpena Street Cats knotched another win on Friday, beating the Berkley Bruins 7-4.
Alpena (17-13) trailed the Bruins 3-2 at the end of the first period. The Bruins' Adam Jonak scored 37 seconds in while Colton James scored 29 seconds later to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead.
An unassisted Jonak goal a minute later gave the Bruins a 3-0 lead.
Alpena's Vladislav Khasanov picked up two of his four goals in the first period, one off a power play 6:49 into the period and another a minute later to narrow the spread to 3-2.
The Street Cats outscored the Bruins 3-1 in the second to take a 5-4 lead.
Garret Bailey scored his only goal of the night 10:34 into the second period while Savelii Skurikhin scored two minutes later to give Alpena 4-3 lead. Vladislav Khasanov scored unassisted 30 seconds later to give the Street Cats a 5-3 lead.
The Bruins' Evan Wilson narrowed Alpena's lead to 5-4 after scoring two minutes later on a power play.
Alpena picked up two unanswered goals in the third period for the win. Sergey Merzlov picked up his only goal of the night 1:14 into the period while Khasanov picked up his last goal of the night on a power play 13:40 into the period.
The Street Cats went 5-for-6 in the power play.
Alpena's goalie Vladislav Graevski had 28 saves while the Bruins' Hunter Meyers had 26.
Alpena faces the Bruins again today in Berkley at 4:30 p.m..
