ROGERS CITY-The Posen girls basketball team beat the Rogers City Hurons for the second time this season with a final score of 58-20.
The Vikings (6-0, 4-0 North Star League took a quick 20-0 lead in the first quarter and stretched it to 33-1 by the half. The third quarter saw Posen take a 52-7 lead while Rogers City (4-2) came back in the fourth quarter.
"I'm happy with how the girls played. They had a little run at the end and we scored more than we did last time against them. Overall, I'm proud of the effort," Rogers City head coach Gary Bisson said.
Posen's Korynn Hincka led with 28 points while Ashley Meyers had 10. Courtney Streich hit 11 for Rogers City.
"Rogers City had a couple of girls out tonight and it was nice to get a chance to play more of our girls," Posen coach Karl Momrik said.
Posen is off till Friday the third when it travels to Hillman for a non-conference matchup. Rogers City is off till Monday, the sixth when it hosts Onaway.
