A search for a man believed to be involved in a bank robbery in Lewiston ended Thursday afternoon.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Montmorency County Dispatch received a 911 call from the First Federal Bank in Lewiston reporting a robbery had occurred. Deputies from the Montmorency County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police responded to the scene, and were told an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

Montmorency County Sheriff's Office then attempted to locate Dale Alwin Weidenhammer Jr., and issued a press release with his description and his vehicle.

At 3:15 p.m., an email from the sheriff's office stated "the armed robbery was taken into custody without incident by the Montmorency Co Sheriff's Office with assistance from the Michigan State Police." No other details were available by press time.
