FAIRVIEW-Trenton LaVergne scored a hat trick and the Alcona soccer team clinched a share of the North Star League title with a 6-1 win over Fairview on Wednesday.
With the win, Alcona (10-9, 5-1 NSL) shares the league title with Oscoda, who also finished at 5-1 after the two teams split a pair of head-to-head games.
"Being co-champion, I'm happy with what happened. I think the kids did great. That's what they set out to do," Alcona coach Tim Munro said.
Jason Steiner and Ben Dubuque each added a goal and two assists for the Tigers. Schyler Bates scored a goal and Brandon Smigelski and Jeff Schram each had an assist.
LaVergne's hat trick gives him 25 goals for the regular season.
Alcona has a first-round bye for district play and will face the winner of Tuesday's Saginaw Nouvel-Saginaw Valley Lutheran game on Thursday at Saginaw Nouvel.
