Mary Davis, a six-year breast cancer survivor, puts up a unique ode to survivors, family and friends of people who have been affected by breast cancer. She displays pink bras in her front yard to show support for breast cancer awareness month. “We started out with around 15 bras three years ago in a tree, and this year there are around 60,” Davis said. “Some of the bras are dyed, and some of the donated ones have names written on them. If you have a bra and want to add it to the display, stop on out.” This year she and her husband, Harry, added ribbons with the words “hope, faith, survivor, love, courage, unite, fight, care and strength” painted on them, and want survivors and those affected by breast cancer to stop and sign the big pink ribbon in memory or in honor of the person affected. “There are so many people in the area that have had breast cancer,” Davis said. “I didn’t realize how many people had it until I had it myself. It’s just our way to show support.”
