Lavergne scores five goals in 6-2 Alcona win

STANDISH-The Alcona boys soccer team picked up a big win against Standish on?Monday, with Trenton Lavergne scoring five out of six goals.

"Trenton is finally working through his ankle problems. He really showed off how much by scoring five goals tonight," Alcona soccer coach Tim Munro said.

Lavergne had two header goals for the night.

Jason Steiner picked up the other goal for Alcona.

No Alcona player had more than one assist. Alcona ended the first half with a 3-1 lead and stretched that lead to the final score.

"All around, it was a good effort. Everybody pitched in when they were needed and it was good win for the boys,"?Munro said.

Alcona is now 6-5 overall and 2-0 in the North Star League.?They travel to?Tawas on Wednesday.
