HARBOR SPRINGS-The Alpena boys soccer team battled back from an early deficit to earn a 2-2 tie with Harbor Springs on Monday.
Alpena (2-5-1) fell behind 2-0 in the first 15 minutes of the game before Kyle Supiran scored his first career goal to put Alpena on the board. Willie Santos Perez earned an assist.
Peter Guest scored the tying goal in the second half with an assist from Mitchell Day.
"Sometimes, there's good ties and there's bad ties. On paper this was a bad tie because this is a team we should have handled," Alpena coach Tim Storch said. "When we started to employ all our players, we had periods of dominance, but we didn't do that enough. It was a little bit of a mixed bag for us."
Alpena hosts Ogemaw Heights at 5 p.m. tonight.

WEST BRANCH- Emma Strong had 20 kills and the Alpena volleyball team came away with a Big North Conference win over Ogemaw Heights in five games on Monday.
Alpena won 20-25, 25-17, 25-11, 19-25 and 15-12.
Logan Myers added 12 kills, 30 digs and four aces; Taylor Genschaw had 10 kills and four aces; Lexi Smith had 43 assists and Jordan Modrzynski had four aces and four kills.
The Wildcats host Traverse City Central on Wednesday.
Alpena's JV team beat the Falcons 25-19 and 25-22. Lindsey Moggie had six kills for Alpena and Allison Heise had six aces.
Hillman 3, Atlanta 0
ATLANTA-The Hillman volleyball team played some close games with Atlanta on Monday, but ultimately came away with a sweep in three games.
Hillman won 25-23, 25-9 and 26-24.
Jensen Tchorzynski led the Tigers with 16 kills and 12 digs; Kalen Tchorzynski had 12 digs, Alissa Jones had 26 service points and Riley Appelgren had 14 assists.
Hillman plays at Mio on Thursday.
Onaway wins RC Tourney
ROGERS CITY- Onaway defeated Rogers City in the finals of the Hurons' home volleyball tournament on Saturday.
The Cardinals took the tournament crown after winning 25-8 and 25-20.
The Hurons fared well in the tournament, beating Mio (25-12, 25-12), Charlevoix (27-25, 25-12) and Au Gres (25-14, 25-18) in pool play while earning a split with Alpena (25-17, 18-25).
In the semifinals, Rogers City defeated Gaylord 20-25, 25-21 and 15-5 to earn a matchup with the Cardinals.
Jena Tulgestke had 31 kills, five blocks and six aces for Rogers City; Megan Quaine had 66 digs; Alexa Quaine had 22 kills and 31 digs; Sara Meredith had seven aces and 20 kills; Cassie Brege had 59 assists and Courtney Streich had six aces.
Rogers City is 11-5-1 overall and plays at Whittemore-Prescott on Thursday.
