There will be a celebrity softball game and family fun night on Sunday at the Alpena Huron Shore Babe Ruth Complex on US 23 North.
The game is in support of Alpena's Cal Ripken state championship teams in the 9U and 11U divisions as they try to raise money needed to travel to regional tournaments in Indiana and Illinois.
The game will feature Wildcat players vs teachers and coaches. The teacher/coaches team will feature coaches such as
Christin Sobeck, Paul Marwede, Shawn Ballor. The Alpena players squad will feature members of both the Alpena JV and varsity baseball and softball squads.
There will also be music, food and lots of fun pay-to-play activities, such as a bounce house, and a pie-in-the-face station.
Gate opens at 5 p.m. and the game starts at 6 p.m.
Team members will also be stationed at Culligan Plaza and the Alpena Mall today where they will be selling ice cold beverages and collecting donations.
