Public not given opportunity to ask questions

July 5, 2013
The Alpena News

Wait folks, I believe there are many taxpayers, including downtown merchants, who think Alpena is a great city with wonderful people that does not need the proposed plaza to make it a better place. Some citizens would like to have been given a change to ask questions and express opinions at the Thursday night, June 27 meeting at the Granum Theatre at ACC. However, when the last planned speech ended, the audience was given no opportunity to ask a question or make a comment.

To make a judgment about the plaza, citizens need to learn the results and recommendations of the reported parking study committee. Citizens also need to be informed about the plans costs where the money is coming from to meet the anticipated costs.
