ACC Foundation elects new officers

At the April 25, 2013 quarterly board meeting, the Alpena Community Foundation Board of Trustees elected Sue Fitzpatrick as its new president and Nancy Coombs as vice president.

Fitzpatrick, an ACC alumna, previously served as the vice president of the foundation board since 2005, and she has been a trustee since 2002. She currently serves on the Alumni Gifts Committee of the Building a Powerful Future Campaign, a member of the Scramble for Scholarships Committee and the Annual Giving Committee.

She also participated in the Pathways to the Future Campaign, and helped the foundation achieve its $1.4 million goal. In addition, she also assisted with the foundation's 25th Anniversary Campaign, which raised $300,000.

Fitzpatrick is also actively involved in many community organizations including Art in the Loft, Friends Together, ARTown Committee, Michigan College Access Network and the Northeast Michigan Community Foundation.

Coombs joined the ACC Foundation board in 1998 and assisted with the Pathways to the Future Campaign and the ACC Foundation's 25th Anniversary Campaign. In addition, she is a member of the Special Gifts Committee of the Building a Powerful Future Campaign. Coombs also serves on the Scramble for Scholarship Committee and the Annual Giving Committee.

Coombs is an active community volunteer and has been involved in numerous organizations including M-PAC, Alpena Community Concert, Alpena Regional Medical Center's Special Prospects Committee and the Northeast Michigan Community Foundation.

Chris McCoy served as President of the ACC Foundation for the past eight years and after a 23-year tenure on the board has retired his position.

The ACC Foundation was established in 1982 and is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization and the official fundraising arm of the college. Additional ACC Foundation trustees include Roger Bauer, Jim Boldrey, Lisa M. Dietlin, Marc Ferguson, Cindy Gabara, Rich Gillies, Avis Hinks, Dr. Olin Joynton, Dennis Kruttlin, Max Lindsay, Jim Masters, Elaine Orr and Terri Rondeau.
