Those with PTSD should receive Purple Heart

April 26, 2013
The Alpena News

There are a fair number of veterans in the Alpena area who served in Iraq and/or Afghanistan. Some of these vets likely suffer from PTSD. If, as the psychiatrists claim, PTSD is tied to physical (as well as emotional) changes in the human brain, shouldn't every vet who suffers from PTSD receive a Purple Heart? If one of these local vets hasn't received such a medal, shouldn't the public at least treat them as if they had?

Note: I am a pre-"War on Terror" vet.
