Alpena County Sheriff Steve Kieliszewski waits for enough money to be raised to meet his bail while serving time in “jail” as part of the Jail & Bail fundraising event at the Alpena Senior Center on Monday. Kieliszewski, Undersheriff Terry King, Rep. Peter Pettalia, Mayor Matt Waligora and interim Police Chief Joel Jett were among those who were “arrested” and needed bail to get released. The bail money will be used to help fund the senior center’s nutrition program. The services have taken a hit due to sequestration and the event raised $9,280 to help make up for the loss of federal aid.
