ALPENA - U.S. News and World Report has named Tendercare Greenview Health and Rehab Center one of the nation's best nursing homes for 2013.
It is estimated that 3.3 million Americans will live in the nation's nursing homes this year. To help family members find the best nursing homes in each state, U.S. News and World Report rated more than 15,000 homes in 2013. It built a searchable database to highlight the highest-rated homes that are most likely to meet each user's needs. The data behind its ratings comes from Nursing Home Compare, a website run by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and utilizes data published by CMS in January of 2013. The 3,036 centers that earned the highest rating are displayed with a badge on their profile on the site in recognition of this status.
"We're very pleased that our center was ranked as one of U.S. News and World Report's Best Nursing Homes," Laura Caldwell, administrator of Tendercare Greenview Health and Rehab Center, said. "Our team of health care professionals is focused on providing quality care to residents with a wide range of medically complex needs. It is an honor to be acknowledged for our efforts by such a respected media organization," said.
Those centers recognized in January will display that badge throughout the year on the U.S. News and World Report website and only 21 percent of all centers in Michigan received the highest rating.
